Leme Lopes, André;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742005000200008
Abstract: luciano de samosata’s how history should be written is the only known treatise on history from antiquity. it was written in the context of the "historical" production spawned by lucio vero’ parthian wars (second half of the second century a.d.). to underline the moral and political position of the historian - who must, above all, be just -, luciano criticizes these flattering narratives and presents thucydides as the model historian.

Biografia. Interioriza o. Testemunho. Abstract: This article aims at reconstructing the meaning given by D. Luciano Mendes de Almeida (1930-2006), to his own biographical trajectory. D. Luciano was auxiliary bishop of Saint-Paul and Archbishop of Mariana, secretary and president of the CNBB, and also vice president of CELAM. The configuration he made of himself appears to be paradoxical: instead of strengthening a personal identity, it assumes a dynamic anthropological and religious self-emptiness and a mediating performance in favor of ternary relations between God and the subject itself, a process called by the Archbishop as the "internalization of the figure Jesus Christ." With a theoretical support coming from semiotics and religious history, this process of internalization is understood in this article as a specific narrative program which has acquired unique forms over the centuries, with emphasis on Ignatians spirituality, while preserving its conception as an act of faith on behalf of the competency given to an Other. The article also suggests that ,nowadays, that internalization of the figure of Jesus Christ approaches the reported testimony, given the ethical engagement raised by it, which reconfigures the subject in the sharing of experiences of
In the decimated city: symptom, translation, and the performance of a New York jíbaro from Ladí to Luciano to Lavoe  [cached]

Centro Journal , 2007,
Abstract: In this article I examine El Conjunto Típico Ladí s seis con décima Un jíbaro en Nueva York (1947) as an exercise in performative (mis)translation. Following Patricia Gherovici s The Puerto Rican Syndrome and Frances Negrón- Muntaner s Boricua Pop, I argue that the song s performance of a jíbaro in New York builds upon what was already a contested and controversial construction the Puerto Rican jíbaro and posits a multilayered, synthetic, fluid, and highly ambivalent model of diasporic puertorrique idad. (In my reading, mistranslation functions not as an obstacle to diaspora s articulation, but as a key strategy of diasporic performance.) Lastly, I read this song against the Nuyorican movement s aesthetic and political resignifying of the jíbaro, as evidenced in Felipe Luciano s spoken-word piece Jíbaro/My Pretty Nigger and Héctor Lavoe and Willie Colón s Asalto navide o albums.
This article represents the author's response to critical commentary made in this section in the last edition by Luciano Martinez. The author maintains that the social and solidarity economy is a sphere under construction, in which several strands can be found. All of these approaches aim to move towards a different type of economy. This character as a developing realm can prompt doubts; this, however, should not lead to a paralyzing fatalism which allows the constant updating of the free market as a hegemonic institution. Far from a utopia to be denounced from a “realistic” viewpoint of economy, its concerns the construction of an economy that combines socio-politically regulated market mechanisms as well as relations of reciprocity and redistribution. The text also explores some of the elements that make up the solidarity and social economy.
