網路時代資訊組織與Metadata課程發展 Curriculum Development on Organization of Information and Metadata in Internet Age  [PDF]

Abstract: 編目作業向來是圖書館組織整理圖書文獻的重要機能,為了培育編目館員具備適當的知識技能,圖書資訊學系所普遍開設編目課程。近年來,由於資訊科技進步與網際網路盛行,對圖書館編目工作帶來重大衝擊,引發編目課程改名為資訊組織課程以及Metadata教育等議題。由於編目工作是圖書館的重要機能,使得資訊組織與Metadata課程探討更具意義。本論文首先回顧近十年相關的重要文獻,藉由美國臺灣經驗探索圖書館資訊組織工作的變革與需求,其次研析編目課程轉型成資訊組織課程的發展,涵蓋資訊組織教育原理、課程名稱、課程內涵與單元、基礎與進階課程安排、實習與作業,以及實驗課程。另一方面,由於數位圖書館大量建構與Metadata研究蓬勃,本論文也探討Metadata課程原理與設計,以及資訊組織與Metadata課程關係等議題。最後總結並提出資訊組織課程與Metadata課程未來發展建議。 As cataloging is one important library function, education for cataloging has been developed in library and information science (LIS) schools for more than one hundred years. Cataloging curricula are core components in LIS schools; however, information technologies and Internet bring a lot of changes. Cataloging curricula change into organization of information curricula and metadata curricula. The article mainly discusses influence factors and development of information organization curricula and metadata curricula in Internet Age. It made analysis of changing cataloging work form three perspectives including job changes, cataloger role change, and cataloger competencies change. New patterns of information organization curricula are explored, including theory, course title, course content, course structure, basic courses, advanced courses, field study and experimental design. Meanwhile, metadata curricula are also discussed. The study finally made discussion and suggestions.
台灣圖書館網頁標記語言正確性之探討 The Study of Webs Markup Language Validations of Libraries in Taiwan  [PDF]

Abstract: 圖書館網站是圖書館服務的延伸,圖書館網頁之正確性與否必然關係著資訊倫理中之可及性及正確性,因此突顯出圖書館網頁是否符合網頁設計標準規範對讀者服務之重要性,而其中網頁標記語言為網頁設計標準規範的一種,透過圖書館網頁正確性檢測可清楚揭露網頁符合標準規範的程度,以協助圖書館開發或維護符合標準規範之網頁。本研究利用W3C所提供之網頁標記語言檢測服務(Markup Validation Service)檢測158所大專院校圖書館與 4間公共圖書館網站首頁,藉此探討國內公共圖書館與大專院校圖書館網頁標記語言正確性之現況。結果發現大專院校圖書館與公共圖書館網站首頁標記語言正確性之檢測通過率為0,且錯誤數超過100個以上者有1/3強,顯示國內圖書館網頁標記語言之正確性亟待改善。本研究亦對於網頁檢測發生錯誤且W3C無修改建議之處,以範例方式提出解決之建議,供圖書館製作維護網頁之參考。 Library website is the extended service of library; the correctness of library webpage is certainly related to accessibility and correctness of information ethics and also will manifest the importance of the compliance of library webpage with webpage design standard for reader service. Markup validation service is one kind among webpage design standard, and testing the correctness of library webpage can reveal the extent of the compliance of webpage with the standard in order to assist libraries to develop or maintain webpage conforming to the standard. This study utilized markup validation service provided by W3C to test the correctness of code of library homepage of 158 colleges and 24 public libraries in order to investigate the current status of the correctness of markup on webpage on the websites of domestic college and public libraries. The results showed that 0% of homepage markup of college and public libraries passed the test, and the error quantity of 1/3 of them was over 100; this indicated that the webpage designers and validation mechanism of domestic libraries need improvement. For the errors found in the webpage testing which W3C provided no suggestion for amendment, this study offered some suggested solutions by examples to provide references for producing and maintaining library webpage.

Abstract: 本研究旨在探討美國公共圖書館生涯資訊服務之內涵,以及施行生涯資訊服務之館員對此項服務之功能、困難及挑戰、館員扮演之角色與應具備之條件、及未來發展方向等層面之看法。本研究以美國公共圖書館負責生涯資訊服務之124 位館員或主管為研究對象,採用網路問卷調查法,並輔以電子郵件訪談,藉以深入了解服務之具體內容與受訪者內心的想法。研究結果顯示美國公共圖書館生涯資訊服務內涵方面,主要包括提供豐富的生涯館藏與製作相關資料、成立生涯資訊中心、提供資訊轉介服務、舉辦專題講座、及行銷生涯資訊服務等。本研究亦綜合研究結果,就圖書館規劃之服務內容、館員的在職訓練、及館員宜具備之人格特質與專業知能等面向,提出數項建議藉以供國內未來規劃施行生涯資訊服務之公共圖書館參考。 Employing an on-line questionnaire and email interview, this study investigated the content of career information services of American public libraries. 124 librarians or managers responsible for the services were surveyed about their opinion on the functions, difficulties and challenges of the services, and the librarians’ role and qualifications and how they perceive the services in the future. The results indicate that American public libraries participating in this study offer a wide variety of career collections, found career information centers, provide referral services, give workshops, and market the services. 頁次:66-87

Abstract: 網路時代,圖書館員需要具備專業能力以有效執行資訊組織工作及整理網路與數位資源,圖書資訊學校需因應時代變遷與圖書館期許調整資訊組織與數位資源 組織課程以培養資訊組織專家。本研究旨在探討我國資訊組織與Metadata教育現況及是否符合圖書館需求,研究目的包括:(1)調查我國圖書資訊學系所 提供資訊組織課程現況。(2)調查我國圖書資訊學系所提供網路與數位資源組織課程現況。(3)探討Metadata課程與編目課程的關係。(4)探討我國 資訊組織課程是否符合圖書館員的專業能力需求。本研究利用問卷調查輔以網站內容分析,調查我國圖書資訊學系所資訊組織課程與Metadata課程現況,並 探討Metadata與編目課程關係,以及資訊組織供應與圖書館需求之平衡。研究結果顯示臺灣9所圖書資訊學校開設22門基礎資訊組織課程、46門進階課 程、6門網路與數位資源組織課程,共74 門,平均每校開設8.2門課,其中有2門Metadata課程。 The article mainly discusses organization of information as well as Metadata education in Taiwan. The paper presents finding of a survey on the state of cataloging and Metadata education in nine library and information science programs in Taiwan. The author sent questionnaires to nine library and information science programs, used web sites content analysis, and undertook in-depth interviews with faculties teaching organization of information courses. The survey showed there were seventy four courses on cataloging and Metadata provided, including twenty-two basic courses, forty six advanced courses, and six internet and digital information organizing courses. Among those courses, there were two Metadata courses provided by Fu-Jen Catholic University and Hsuang Chuang University. Metadata topics were well integrated into organization of information curriculum. Although educators agreed on the inclusion of specific knowledge and skills in Metadata instruction, they did not agree that it was necessary to provide Metadata courses. They also agreed that there were gaps between cataloging / Metadata education and library need for shortage of course credit hours. Abstract: 頁次:38-57 本論文旨在研究美國圖書資訊學校網路教學,探討其意涵、原理、實施現況,以及在正規教育與繼續教育的應用,以供我國未來發展借鑑。研究方法採網站調查法,以美國圖書館學會認可的提供遠距教育的圖書資訊學校為對象,針對其遠距教育網站進行資料蒐集與內容分析:38校有26校提供網路教學,並有7校以網路教學授與碩士學位本論文首先概介38個圖書責訊學研究所基本資料、遠距教育形式、以及網站內容與結構。其次,析述網路教學概況、簡史、提供學程/課程種類、網路教學方式、課程設計與主題、網路教學系統、教師、學生、行政與管理、與繼續教育的應用等。 The use of distance education to reach distant student in Library education in the United States began in 1888. After one hundred years developed, web-based distance education is popular among library and information science schools. This study mainly discusses web-based instruction in library and information science in the United States. At first, it explores the definitions, theories, values, instruction methods, and system components of web-based distance education. Findings are reported from a web survey of 38 library and information science schools in the U.S.

Abstract: 由於網路購書的與起,出版社與批發商、零售商、書店之間,為了圖書資訊的快遠流通,越來越需要通用標準,ONIX圖書線上資訊交換標準遂應運而生。與另一電子書標準OeBF相比,OeBF著墨於電子書內容的標準規範,而ONIX則強調於資料的著錄與交換。本文即從ONIX的起源開始,介紹ONlX標準的發展與現況,並觀察圖書館界對此標準的反應。目前ONIX已成為出版社與網路書店間的溝通橋樑,並已完成ONIX與MARC間的對應,未來若能解決ONIX轉換成MARC而缺少權威控制的問題,將可簡化圖書館技術工作的負荷,並豐富書目記錄的內容。 Since the Internet has grown as a popular place to buy books, the publishers need badly a standard format that can use to distribute electronic information about their books to wholesale and retail booksellers, and anyone else involved in the sale of books. ONIX,stands for Online Information eXchange, is one of such standard formats. This article describes the background and development of ONIX, also explores the library's role in the mapping from ONIX to MARC.

Abstract: 圖書資訊系統是圖書館作為徵集、組織與服務圖書資訊資源的重要工具,隨著資訊技術的發展,圖書資訊系統也從傳統的卡片目錄逐漸蛻變成不同的多元樣貌,如整合式圖書館系統、聯合目錄、電子資源管理系統、亞馬遜網路書店與Google圖書等。本文旨在探討圖書資訊系統的歷史發展與未來方向,採取個案研究為方法,以主要趨勢的演變歷程為主軸,依序選取4類14個案進行討論,分析各式圖書資訊系統的特色,進而從物件類型、物件精細度、資源範圍、組織方式、聚合方式、聚合資源、呈現方式、軟體導入模式、社會化線上目錄、設計方式、運作方式與取用方式等12種觀點提出研究發現與建議。 Library information systems are an essential tool for libraries to acquire and organize information resources to deliver services to users. With advancement of information technologies, library information systems have also evolved from card catalogue into diverse ones, such as integrated library system, elec- tronic resource management system, Amazon.com and Google Books. This article aims to review the historical development of library information systems as a basis to explore the future landscape of library information systems. Case study is adopted as research methodology to analyze fourteen library informa- tion systems. Furthermore, research findings and discussions are organized in the following points: type, granularity, boundary, organization and aggrega- tion of object, and representation of information resources, as well as software implementation, social OPAC, software design, operation model, and access.

Abstract: 由於資訊科技及網路的發展,充斥於網路上各種形式的讀者書評成為讀者選書的另一參考來源。書評之於科學普及類圖書又尤為重要,因為書評身為科學傳播的入口途徑。本研究分析網路讀者書評之結構與格式、網路文類特徵與寫作內容特性。研究對象為aNobii網路閱讀社群網站之讀者書評共897篇,逐篇分析且歸納書評之內容,以期提供圖書館、出版社、閱讀推廣等單位瞭解網路讀者書評,拓展其應用範圍。 Due to the rapid development of information technology and Internet, online book reviews have become an alternative information source for book selection. Reviews of books of scientific popularization genre are especially important because they serve as a portal for scientific communication. This study investigated the structure and format of online book reviews, as well as the content and characteristics of those review entries. Data collection was conducted on aNobii, an online book club. This study aims to provide libraries, publishers, book promoters, and other organizations knowledge of online book reviews, and also to expand their scope of applications for libraries, publishers, and reading outreach activities.
科技大學圖書館服務品質評量指標之分析 An Analysis for Library Service Quality Indices of Technological University  [PDF]

Abstract: 知識經濟時代的來臨使得大學圖書館扮演的角色日益重要,網際網路的興起與普及化,科技大學師生需要多樣化,快速檢索資訊與共同使用知識的便利,使得過去衡 量圖書館服務的量表也顯得不適用。本研究主要目的是發展適合於網際網路時代的科技大學圖書館服務品質量表,參酌「服務滿意度」、「資訊服務品質」、「圖書 館服務品質」等領域的相關文獻,修訂「圖書館服務品質量表之構面」,形成「人員服務」、「檢索系統易用性」、「館藏取得便利」、「檢索設備服務」、「電子 期刊參考服務」、「館藏資源服務」等六個探索性因素構面,再以此六個因素構面為基礎,蒐集公、私立各一所科技大學圖書館使用者,回收共計469個有效樣 本,進行統計上的驗證。本研究發展的量表工具在驗證性因素分析及模式交叉驗證中,皆均獲得良好的信度、效度,最後針對公私立科大的服務品質指標進行相互比 較,並提出本研究限制及對後續研究與圖書館管理實務的若干建議。 Library plays an increasingly important role in the age of knowledge-based economy. With the prosperity of the Internet, technological university readers need variously and rapidly search information, conveniently retrieve various information and knowledge sharing facilities. Hence, current models for measuring service quality of library are perceived as inapplicable as they are targeted primarily towards traditional library contexts. The main purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive model and instrument for measuring library service quality in the Internet context. This study reviews the literature relating to service satisfaction, information service quality and library service quality, then proposes six exploratory dimensions of library service, including person service, easeful retrieval systems, conveniently get information service, information retrieval facility service, electric journal reference service, and collecting resource service. Based on these six dimensions, collecting 469 valid samples from one public and one private technological universities construct a cross validity model for measuring technological university library service quality. Through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, evidence of reliability and validity of the proposed model is presented. Finally, we compare the library service quality indices of these technological universities conclude this study by discussing limitations and implications for research and management practice.

Abstract: 利用網站獲取資訊已經成為現代人經常從事的行為,有些網站提供了具邏輯性的架構幫助使用者方便找到資訊;但缺乏組織性的網站架構會讓使用者受挫並離開網站。值此電子化時代,網站成了遠端使用者與單位組織溝通的最佳橋樑,如何讓使用者能方便、有效率地從網站中取用所需之資訊,使網站資訊發揮應有的價值,是網站設計者必須深思的問題。本研究是以大學圖書館網站使用者為中心,提出改進修正型德菲式卡片分類法,以瞭解使用者如何組織網站中的網站標籤、以及對於各項網站標籤的命名方式,進而建立符合使用者需求之大學圖書館網站架構。在經由於不同資訊架構網站之任務導向尋獲度測試及變異數分析,證實本研究所提出之改進德菲式卡片分類法,確實能有效提昇大學圖書館網站尋獲度。 Modern people use websites to access information frequently. Some websites provide logical structures that help users find information. Others without intel- ligible organization may frustrate users’ attempts to navigate through them. In the digital age, websites have become the best communication channels for the remote users and the institutes. How to make users access the required informa- tion from the websites conveniently and efficiently to bring the values of them, website designers must seriously take the problem into consideration. Based on the understanding of users’ demand to organize information and to name the labels of the websites, in this study we propose the refined modified-Delphi card sorting to redesign the university library website that practically meets the users’ requirements. By using task-oriented findability testing and analysis on various websites’ information architectures, we apply analysis of variance to definitely verify that the proposed refined card sorting method can effectively enhance the websites findability.
