Fuzzy Timed Agent Based Petri Nets for Modeling Cooperative Multi-Robot Systems  [PDF]

Abstract: A cooperative multi-robot system (CMRS) modeling method called fuzzy timed agent based Petri nets (FTAPN) is proposed in this paper, which has been extended from fuzzy timed object-oriented Petri net (FTOPN). The proposed FTAPN can be used to model and illustrate both the structural and dynamic aspects of CMRS, which is a typical multi-agent system (MAS). At the same time, supervised learning is supported in FTAPN. As a special type of high-level object, agent is introduced into FTAPN, which is used as a common modeling object in its model. The proposed FTAPN can not only be used to model CMRS and represent system aging effect, but also be refined into the object-oriented implementation easily. At the same time, it can also be regarded as a conceptual and practical artificial intelligence (AI) tool for multi-agent systems (MAS) into the mainstream practice of the software development.

Abstract: In this paper, we present a new formalism for Modeling Multi Agent Systems (MAS). Our model based a PN is able to describe not only not the internal state of each agent modeled but also its behavior. Owing to these features, one can model naturally the dynamic behavior of complex systems and the communication between these entities. For this, we propose mathematical definitions attached to firing transitions. To validate our contribution, we will deal with real examples.

Abstract: Analysis and proper assessment of multi-agent system properties are very much important. In this paper, we discussed about methodologies for modeling, analysis and design of multi-agent oriented system with the help of Petri net. A Multi-agent system can be considered as a discrete-event dynamic system and Petri nets are used as a modeling tool to assess the structural properties of the multi-agent system. Petri net provides an assessment of the interaction properties of the multi-agent.

Abstract: 有色网能够描述资源和操作的具体语义。首先,由于计划中的操作和状态的个数的有限性,与有色网的元素个数有限性约束完全一致。另外,计划中的动作与有色网中的变迁语义类似,以及计划中的操作和状态和有色网中的库所语义非常类似。因此,有色网应用到计划的形式化中,有其独特的优势。本文根据约定的前提条件,计划建模从操作、状态和交互3个方面来具体实现,并给出了建模方法。计划的规范描述、有效性验证以及计划的模拟都可以直接应用经典Petri网或有色网的理论技术。

Abstract: This Staphylococcus epidermidis has been discovered as the most frequent germ detected during indwelling medical devices infection. This fact is well attached with the ability of this bacterium to form structured layered population known as biofilm. Inside S. epidermidis biofilm, bacterial cells present more different behavior than in their planktonic counterpart. This paper describes the thriving application of Petri net theory for modeling of interaction between different regulations actors leading S. epidermidis to switch from Planctonik to Biofilm. Indeed this biologic system is very sensible and has dangerous effect. We propose Agent Petri Nets model to describe and analyze the process of formation of Biofilm molecule. This model presents a formal framework based on Multi Agents system characteristics.

Abstract: A new distributed architecture of wind-photovoltaic hybrid system is formulated in this paper to tackle the disadvantages of power generation and power supply in the mode of "large units,high voltage,large-high power grid".Firstly,a multi-agent system is applied to wind-photovoltaic hybrid system,and the mathematical model is given to describe the power demand and supply situation of the system based on multi-agent.Then,an algorithm of dynamic task assignment is developed for the cooperation between agents.By combining with coloured petri net,the cooperation and negotiation process is established.Finally,the distributed control strategy is proved to be efficient in a simulative wind-photovoltaic field running circumstance.

Abstract: In this study, Logical Time Interaction Petri Nets (LTIPN) were designed to describe multimedia synchronization based on the previous models. In the model, we introduce logical expressions which are used to describe passing value indeterminacy in an logical time Petri net to model multimedia synchronization. And all multimedia synchronization events including multimedia objects are expressed by transitions of Petri nets, while the previous models mostly use places of Petri nets to express multimedia objects. This study provides users simple and intuitive modeling approaches. Basic temporal relations between multimedia objects, multimedia synchronization strategies and user interactive operations can be represented simply and explicitly by the LTIPN.

Abstract: Petri Nets (PNs) are an effective structure for modeling and analyzing asynchronous systems with concurrent and parallel activities. A Petri net models the static properties of a discrete event system concentrating on two basic concepts: events and conditions. Most of the theoretical work on Petri nets is a formal definition of Petri nets structures, which consist of a set of places, representing conditions, a set of transitions, representing events, an input function and an output function. For practical purposes, a graphical representation is more useful. Two types of nodes portray places and transitions. A circle is a place and a bar is a transition. There is no inherent measure of time in a classical Petri net. To approach time-based evaluation of system performances, Timed Petri Nets (TPNs) were introduced. Modeling the notion of time is not straightforward. There are several possibilities for introducing time in PNs, among them timed transitions and timed places. This paper reviews several published examples where Petri Nets were used in different circumstances such as estimating expected utilization of processing resources at steady state in open queueing networks, verifying computerized simulations and batch planning in textile industry.

Abstract: One of the possible methods for transport stream modeling is by using Petri's nets [1,2]. This approach turns out to be very convenient for achieving the desired tasks because of the following reasons: the Petri's nets [3] are based on causal-consequence connections found in abundance in transport problems and the graphical representation by means of the net elements is easily percieved by man, i.e. there an easy way of visualisation of the transport problem under consideration. Examples will be given of how transport problems are modeled.

Abstract: This paper is devoted to the use of hybrid Petri nets (PNs) for modeling and control of hybrid dynamic systems (HDS). Modeling, analysis and control of HDS attract ever more of researchers' attention and several works have been devoted to these topics. We consider in this paper the extensions of the PN formalism (initially conceived for modeling and analysis of discrete event systems) in the direction of hybrid modeling. We present, first, the continuous PN models. These models are obtained from discrete PNs by the fluidification of the markings. They constitute the first steps in the extension of PNs toward hybrid modeling. Then, we present two hybrid PN models, which differ in the class of HDS they can deal with. The first one is used for deterministic HDS modeling, whereas the second one can deal with HDS with nondeterministic behavior.
