Hidrobiológica , 2010,
Abstract: the increasing urbanization in big cities, that jeopardizes the ecosystems, makes it important to protect them as well as to recognize and manage the services they provide. in order to have the required scientific evidence to support conservation projects, an assessment of water quality and quantity seen as hydrological ecosystem services in the magdalena river watershed, was carried out. water quality was assessed in two annual cycles based on physicochemical, chemical, bacteriological and algal indicators, showing an abrupt change between the natural and urbanized areas. this has the potential to affect negatively the recreational activities practised in the area. the relevance of the indicators for water quality is that they show different aspects of the problem: physical and chemical parameters indicate variations across sites along the magdalena river and point the places where domestic discharges occur. algae reveal the natural conditions of the habitat and the risks to public health can be assessed with bacteriological indicators. to calculate the water quantity, balances were made in order to know the amount of water that runoff in the three dominant plant communities: the fir forest that generates 10,944,800 m3 of water per year, the pine forest generates 6,878,000 m3 and the mixed and oak forest generates 3,217,500 m3. it is important to preserve the hydrological ecosystem services conserving the forests and rehabilitating the magdalena river in order to enhance the provision of drinking water to the southern part of mexico city.
Para pensar de outros modos a modernidade pedagógica / Another way of thinking about the pedagogical modernity  [cached]

Abstract This paper discusses the productivity of thinking the pedagogical modernity, from the point of view of the foucauldian philosophy. Understanding the pedagogy as a set of knowledges and correlate educational practices, the paper shows the contingent character of the epistemical and epistemological roots that sustain the pedagogical discourses. The provenience of these roots is placed in the platonic Renaissance and in the judaic-christian traditions. From the concepts of critique and hypercritique, the “another way of thinking” proposed by Michel Foucault is indicated as a difficult practice but very important for the political militancy.
DELEUZE READER OF HUME: EXPERIMENTATION, APPRENTICESHIP AND THINKING DELEUZE LEITOR DE HUME: EXPERIMENTA O, APRENDIZAGEM E O PENSAR

Abstract: We intended to present in this work an approximation between Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy and Hume’s. Firstly we will show that Deleuze, in his reading of Hume, emphasizes empiricism’s importance for philosophy, though an empiricism distinct from the one offer by the philosophical tradition. We will further intend to show that these two authors share a common set of perspectives, namely, that thinking happens in response to an event, that “relation” is the instance that prompts thinking, and that the latter presents himself as an experience.
GENETIC VARIABILITY IN THE MAGDALENA RIVER TURTLE, PODOCNEMIS LEWYANA (DUMéRIL, 1852), IN THE MOMPOS DEPRESSION, COLOMBIA
Restrepo,Adriana; Brian C.,Bock; P. Páez,Vivian;
Actualidades Biológicas , 2008,
Abstract: two populations of the endangered magdalena river turtle, podocnemis lewyana, separated by 55 km in the mompos depression were sampled to quantify levels of genetic variation and inspect for evidence of genetic structure. allozyme analyses resolved 22 presumptive gene loci, but only one resulted polymorphic. genotype proportions at this locus departed from those expected under hardy-weinberg equilibrium, showing heterozygote deficiencies in both populations. however, allele frequencies at the locus did not differ between the two sites. the level of genetic variability documented is one of the lowest yet reported for a turtle species, and may reflect either a historical or recent bottleneck event. the lack of evidence for genetic structure suggests gene flow among the sites, at least historically, but the heterozygote deficiencies at each site also imply that inbreeding may be occurring presently within each deme.
Insight or Originality: A Spray in the River of Creative Thinking
Yan Wang, Qinlong Hou
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1104847
Abstract:
One synthetic model of creativity was proposed, which tried to unify the dispute whether creativity was domain generality or specificity by supporting domain generality-specificity duality. The creative thinking process included convergent thinking, divergent thinking and insight (originality).

Morphological and morphometric descriptions of the larval development of Prochilodus magdalenae, from the Magdalena river, Colombia are provided. Specimens were obtained by induced spawning. This species produces very hydrated free eggs. The incubation period was short; it lasted 14 hours at 24 oC after fertilization. Larvae are slightly developed at hatching, with relatively rapid larval development and an accentuated metamorphosis. Analysis of the morphometric data showed that some parts of the body of P. magdalenae do not grow proportionally.

This article analyzes scientific production of Brazilian Nursing, evidencing those that utilize Foucault as a theoretical reference. It recognizes the relationship between academically legitimized field of knowledge and practice. It utilizes 27 abstracts of doctorate dissertations and master’s thesis developed from 1972 to 2003 with references to Foucault published in the Catalogues of the Nursing Research and Study Center of Brazilian Nursing Association-ABEn, as its empirical material. The Study is organized and analyzed upon the following themes: historical studies; gender and sexuality; work and nursing identity. In this light, the existing production points out new possibilities for thinking about the very thoughts as products and as productive of discussion with the potential to impose ordination upon the real, and to constitute subjects that are capable of conceiving and acting in specific ways concerning themselves, others, and social life.
SOCIAL-TERRITORIAL ETHNOGRAPHIES OF MIGRATION AND MOBILITY IN THE MID MAGDALENA RIVER BASIN The cases of Armero Avalanche, Mariquita Reservoir, and Honda Gentrification  [cached]
BéATRIZ NATES CRUZ
Luna Azul , 2010,
Abstract: This article describes certain types of migration and mobility in Mariquita, Armero-Guayabal and Honda, municipalities belonging to the mid Magdalena River basin in Caldas and Tolima (Colombia). The problem presented is how migration and mobility are neither univocal processes nor they can they be studied from a unique dynamic; on the contrary, they crosslink circumstances not only of the causes of this phenomena but also of the implications in the arrival or reception places which, together (causes and implications) explain the existence of people, goods and services migrations and mobility. The methodology used was the ethnographic multi-plane method taking as a reference discourse the live voices of the narrators which were interviewed at different times and sceneries of their own municipalities during 2008 and 2009.

A new fish species of Bryconamericus Eigenmann 1907 is described from the Fonce river, Magdalena Basin of Colombia. The species can be distinguished from all congeners by the number of anterior anal fin rays covered by a scales row (4-11 vs.11-26, except B. orinocoense Román-Valencia 2003 with 1-6, from which is distinguished by the higher number of branched anal fin rays 19 -26 vs. 16-17) and lateral line scales (39-45 vs.31-32); in males, by the spines number on each fins rays (anal 2-10 vs. 9-23, pelvic 2-9 vs. 8-20, pectorals 2-6 vs.9-28 and dorsal 3-6 vs. 6-18). Ecological data of the aquatic habitat of the new taxon are presented and a key to species of Bryconamericus from Cauca-Magdalena, Sinú and Ranchería rivers in Colombia is provided.
Is it ever safe to vote strategically?  [PDF]
Arkadii Slinko,Shaun White
Computer Science , 2013,
Abstract: There are many situations in which mis-coordinated strategic voting can leave strategic voters worse off than they would have been had they not tried to strategize. We analyse the simplest of such scenarios, in which the set of strategic voters all have the same sincere preferences and all cast the same strategic vote, while all other voters vote sincerely. Most mis-coordinations in this framework can be classified as instances of either strategic overshooting (too many voted strategically) or strategic undershooting (too few). If mis-coordination can result in strategic voters ending up worse off than they would have been had they all just voted sincerely, we call the relevant strategic vote unsafe. We show that under every onto and non-dictatorial social choice rule there exist circumstances where a voter has an incentive to cast a safe strategic vote. We extend the Gibbard-Satterthwaite Theorem by proving that every onto and non-dictatorial social choice rule can be individually manipulated by a voter casting a safe strategic vote.
