Abstract: We study the transport of heat in a three dimensional harmonic crystal of slab geometry whose boundaries and the intermediate surfaces are connected to stochastic, white noise heat baths at different temperatures. Heat baths at the intermediate surfaces are required to fix the initial state of the slab in respect of its surroundings. We allow the flow of energy fluxes between the intermediate surfaces and the attached baths and impose conditions that relate the widths of the Gaussian noises of the intermediate baths. The radiated heat obeys Newton's law of cooling when intermediate baths collectively constitute the environment surrounding the slab. We show that Fourier's law holds in the continuum limit. We obtain an exponentially falling temperature profile from high to low temperature end of the slab and this very nature of the profile was already confirmed by Ingen Hausz's experiment. Temperature profile of similar nature is also obtained in the one dimensional version of this model.

Abstract: he aim of this article is not only to review the latest three biographies of Olof Palme, - written respectively by Kjell stberg (2007-9), Klas Eklund (2010) and Henrik Berggren (2010) - but also and above all to identify their methodology, so as to single out some of the controversial points in Palme’s political career, yet leaving out both scandals and vulgar attacks.

Abstract: They come from the north-east. On competition between schools, and student identity in Swedish as a Second Language. Current educational policy in Sweden is characterized by individual choice. Many students who opt for city-centre schools are students with a first language other than Swedish, choosing a school where the majority of students speak Swedish as their first language. Our aim is to analyse the discursive practices discernible in the discourse about students of Swedish as a Second Language (SSL) in a city-centre school. The data are collected from an ethnographic inquiry undertaken in a compulsory school attended by children aged 10–12. The results show how a child’s identity as an SSL student is linked to a market view of education. The SSL student is not just one who has recently immigrated, as is stated in descriptions of the subject. Nor are all students offered education in SSL, since teachers and school leaders claim a lack of resources. In this discourse, SSL students are described as belonging to a category separate from the supposedly normal student. Students from suburban schools are described as substitutes for those living nearby. This has created a dilemma for the school, which risks losing its symbolic value as a “Swedish” school.

Abstract: The concepts of ”I” and ”me”, called by Mead ”the two phases of personality” have been subjected to different interpretations. My definition starts with the temporal dimension. The ”I” and the ”me” are seen as two corresponding functions arising in the human subject when taking the Other’s attitude towards Self. Thus both are social in origin. A frame of reference emerges where the ”I” is the subjective, active and present aspect, and the ”me” is the objective, passive aspect in past tense. Consciousness (especially of the Self) consists in the two functions being erected as one system, where the ”I” has the active capacity, always being partly guided by the ”me”. Dialectic functions of this Self concept are discussed, focusing social human construction of time as a consciously experienced phenomenon. Other aspects are (1) the conversational, stressed by Mead, (2) that the pair is conceptually interdependent and (3) that identity always contains non-identity and transcendence as well.

Abstract: N r de stetiske overvejelser skal udm ntes i konkrete program- mer, kommer virkeligheden ofte i vejen.
