CDMA网络Abis接口信令解码方案设计  [PDF]

Abstract: 为实现码分多址(codedivisionmultipleaccess,CDMA)网络Abis接口的信令监测,分析了Abis接口协议栈,阐述了信令信道和业务信道上消息的透传方式,提出了Abis接口信令解码方案。基于Abis接口业务信道承载层3信令这一特性,给出了业务信道上识别信令数据的方法,同时采用遍历法完成信息元素的解码,以此实现消息在信令监测平台的回放,为设计详细呼叫记录(calldetailrecord,CDR)合成、出表、统计等功能模块奠定基础。经现网测试,验证了该解码方案的正确性与可行性,有效解决了CDMA网络Abis接口不同信道上各类消息的解码。
Who is Authoritative? Understanding Reputation Mechanisms in Quora  [PDF]

Abstract: As social Q&A sites gain popularity, it is important to understand how users judge the authoritativeness of users and content, build reputation, and identify and promote high quality content. We conducted a study of emerging social Q&A site Quora. First, we describe user activity on Quora by analyzing data across 60 question topics and 3917 users. Then we provide a rich understanding of issues of authority, reputation, and quality from in-depth interviews with ten Quora users. Our results show that primary sources of information on Quora are judged authoritative. Also, users judge the reputation of other users based on their past contributions. Social voting helps users identify and promote good content but is prone to preferential attachment. Combining social voting with sophisticated algorithms for ranking content might enable users to better judge others' reputation and promote high quality content.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a novel two-stage rumor spreading Susceptible-Infected-Authoritative-Removed (SIAR) model for complex homogeneous and heterogeneous networks. The interaction Markov chains (IMC) mean-field equations based on the SIAR model are derived to describe the dynamic interaction between the rumors and authoritative information. We use a Monte Carlo simulation method to characterize the dynamics of the Susceptible-Infected-Removed (SIR) and SIAR models, showing that the SIAR model with consideration of authoritative information gives a more realistic description of propagation features of rumors than the SIR model. The simulation results demonstrate that the critical threshold λc of the SIAR model has the tiniest increase than the threshold of SIR model. The sooner the authoritative information is introduced, the less negative impact the rumors will bring. We also get the result that heterogeneous networks are more prone to the spreading of rumors. Additionally, the inhibition of rumor spreading, as one of the characteristics of the new SIAR model itself, is instructive for later studies on the rumor spreading models and the controlling strategies.

Abstract: This paper deals with establishing a GSM link over Satellite. Abis interface, which is defined between Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and Base Station Controller (BSC), in a GSM network is considered here to be routed over the Satellite. The satellite link enables a quick and cost-effective GSM link in meagerly populated areas. A different scenario comparison was done to understand the impact of Satellite environment on network availability comparing to terrestrial scenario. We have implemented an Abis interface over DVB S2 in NS2 and evaluated the performance over the high delay and loss satellite channel. Network performance was evaluated with respect to Satellite channel delay and DVB S2 encapsulation efficiency under different amount of user traffic and compared with the terrestrial scenario. The results clearly showed an increased amount of SDCCH and TCH channels required in the case of satellite scenario for the same amount of traffic in comparison to conventional terrestrial scenario. We have optimized the parameters based on the simulation results. Link budget estimation considering DVB-S2 platform was done to find satellite bandwidth and cost requirements for different network setups. 1. Introduction The success story of second-generation (2G) terrestrial mobile systems (GSM) and the relative demise of 2G mobile satellite systems (MSS) such as, Iridium and Globalstar have influenced the future of MSS. These two distinct but interrelated events demonstrate the importance of proper market and business strategies for the success of the future mobile satellite industry. Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) is the most popular means for voice and data communication having more than 2 billion subscribers all over the world. Still 3/4 of the globe is not covered by GSM networks. Despite growing demand for GSM services in rural areas, it is not cost-effective for GSM service providers to cover areas with meager population density. Poor terrestrial infrastructure in remote areas leads to high capital expenditures for establishing new links by means of fiber optic cables or microwave links, leading to an alternate and cost-effective solution like Satellite interface. Proposed work considers DVB-S2 [1] as a physical interface between Earth station and Satellite due to its highly spectrum efficient Modulation and powerful FEC schemes (ModCode). Abstract: The assessment of data quality from different sources can be considered as a key challenge in supporting effective geospatial data integration and promoting collaboration in mapping projects. This paper presents a methodology for assessing positional and shape quality for authoritative large-scale data, such as Ordnance Survey (OS) UK data and General Directorate for Survey (GDS) Iraq data, and Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), such as OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, with the intention of assessing possible integration. It is based on the measurement of discrepancies among the datasets, addressing positional accuracy and shape fidelity, using standard procedures and also directional statistics. Line feature comparison has been undertaken using buffering techniques and statistics, whilst shape metrics, including moments invariant, have been applied to assess polygon matching. The analyses are presented with a user-friendly interface which eases data input, computation and output of results, and assists in interpretation of the comparison. The results show that a comparison of positional and shape characteristics of OS data or GDS data, with those of OSM data, indicates that their integration for large scale mapping applications is not viable.
A Hmong Birth and Authoritative Knowledge: A Case study of choice, control, and the reproductive consequences of refugee status in American childbirth

Abstract: One area in which anthropologists are concerned is in examining what the state of good health consists of from society to society, and what happens when practitioners of western medicine intersect with people who hold other explanations of well being. This paper explores how the western medical practices of childbirth in America are forced on Hmong refugee childbirth, and therefore, used as a continuation of governmentality, or refugee objectification. Ethnographic data is drawn from a case study of Hmong experiences with the birth process in an American hospital setting. Parallels are drawn between refugee resettlement programs which ultimately produce bodies that are objects of the state; and authoritative medical knowledge in childbirth which produces bodies that are objects of medicine. This research suggests that the American birth process becomes yet another site of refugee reprogramming and a struggle between western medicine and the refugee s understanding of experience.
Towards an Authoritative OpenStreetMap: Conflating OSM and OS OpenData National Maps’ Road Network  [PDF]

Abstract: The quality aspects of OpenStreetMap (OSM), as the global representation of crowd-sourced mapping, have always been of priomary concern to academics. While the methodologies for checking its quality against the national maps have been implemented by a number of studies, there are minimal works on how to practically improve the quality of OSM towards being an authoritative map source. This paper presents a method for conflating road attributes, namely the name and reference code, of OSM with the Open Data provided by Ordnance Survey (the British national mapping agency). The added values in the proposed methodology include the daily updates and serving of the conflated maps via open Web Services. More importantly, the OSM crowd correction is facilitated by frequently highlighting and web-serving the individual differences. There are currently over 5,800 differences in matching road names and references between the two datasets. In addition to describing the conflation methodology, the different geographic distribution patterns of the identified differences are discussed. A negative effect of the road density on the ratio of the mismatched features between the two datasets is observable, evidenced by their different geographical distribution over the map. It is shown that the best correspondence between attributes exists in the very dense areas, followed by the very low density areas, and lastly in the middle to large sized cities.

Single out sorts-donors of sweet cherries, which stable transmit its features to progeny. Selected sorts of different fetus ripening periods, which characterized by large-fruited, productivity and high gustatory quality, for forming high-productive sweet cherries plating.

Abstract: 文章以2014年《中国人文社会科学期刊评价报告》公布的40种权威期刊为研究对象,结合一手调查数据和部分公开数据,通过建立学术期刊综合影响力的评价指标体系,对权威学术期刊的综合影响力进行分析和评价。研究发现,基金论文比、网上下载率、海外论文比、复合总被引、三大文摘转载率、人大复印资料转载率指标与权威期刊的复合影响因子正相关;本单位论文比、2013年复合统计源引用指标对权威期刊复合影响因子的影响不明显;期刊的数字化程度越高,其复合影响因子越高,不过权威期刊建有微博和微信平台的比例相对较低,只有少数期刊使用优先出版;权威期刊他引总引比很高;权威期刊复合影响因子的高低与期刊自身的影响力、期刊所在学科的热门程度、期刊的栏目设置和文章质量密切相关;不同学科权威期刊影响因子间的差异一直会存在,并且有稳定延续的趋势。最后,根据结论提出了学术期刊提高综合影响力的相关政策建议。
In this paper, the 40 kinds of social science journals, which are included in "Chinese Journal of Humanities and Social Science Evaluation Report 2014", are studied. Combined with one hand survey data and some public data, this paper establishes the evaluation index system of the comprehensive influence of academic journals to analyze and evaluate the comprehensive influence of the authority academic journals. The research finds that the ratio of funded papers, online download rates, overseas papers, the composite total citation, the reprint rate of the three main abstracts, and the rate of reprint and copy of information center for social sciences of Renmin University of China, have a positive correlation with the composite impact factor of the authoritative journals. The higher the digital level of journals, the higher the composite impact factor, but authority journals have a relatively low proportion of micro blog and micro channel platforms, and only a few of them are published in priority. Authoritative journals are mostly cited by other publications. The composite impact factor of authoritative journals are closely related to the influence of journals, the popular degree of the subject, the setting of columns and the quality of the articles. There are always differences of impact factor between the different disciplines journals. Finally, according to the conclusion, the relevant policy suggestions are put forward to improve the comprehensive influence of academic journals.

Abstract: The appointment, announced yesterday (May 12) by Science Minister Lord Sainsbury, ends months of speculation about who would succeed Sir George Radda when he completes his four-year tenure as chief executive. Blakemore will take up his position on October 1 this year, and will receive an annual salary of £110,000, plus potential performance-related annual bonuses of up to 20%.Blakemore studied medical sciences at Cambridge University and completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds Doctor of Science degrees from both Oxford and Cambridge. His research has mainly focused on vision and the early development of the brain, but he has also won acclaim for his work in raising the profile of science. Now chairman, formerly president, of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, he also won the Michael Faraday Award in 1989 for his work to further public engagement with science.But he takes over the helm at the MRC at a time when the UK's leading research institution has more than its share of troubles.Earlier this year, the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee launched a scathing attack on the MRC over its £45 million Biobank project. The project, which involves collecting DNA samples from 500,000 middle-aged people in the UK, has been marketed by the MRC as a potential key to unlocking the secrets of some genetic diseases. The hope is it will eventually lead to new and better treatments.
