Queer – Genealogie eines problematischen Begriffs Queer—Genealogy of a troublemaking term  [cached]
Birgit Müller
querelles-net , 2002,
Jagoses’s introduction to queer theory presents primarily a genealogy of the term ‘queer’. Ranging from the historical context of homophile movements and gay-liberation movements to lesbian feminism in the United States Jagose investigates the conditions which have produced Queer Theory and traces the continuities and discontinuities of the semiotic history of the term ‘queer’. She discusses the poststructural roots of queer theory and discusses the emancipatory potential of its theoretical and political aspects. An extensive epilogue with notes on the reception of Queer Theory in the FRG has been added to the German edition.
Queer Theory and the Study of Religion  [PDF]
Claudia Schippert
REVER : Revista de Estudos da Religi?o , 2005,
Abstract: Queer Theory has become an important theoretical approach that focuses on the centrality of sexuality in modern conceptions of the self. This article reviews central ideas of queer theoretical work, notes areas in religious studies where they have been and continue to be explored, and summarizes some of the theory's promises and points of conflict.
The Afterlives of Queer Theory  [cached]
Michael O'Rourke
continent. , 2011,
Abstract: Were we to accept recent commentators, Queer Theory, is: over, passé, moribund, stagnant; or, at worst, dead, its time and its power to wrench frames having come and gone. Almost since it began we have been hearing about the death(s) of Queer Theory. Yet, despite the rumors of extinction, Queer Theory continues to tenaciously hold on to life, to affirm the promise of the future, even despite the dominant influence of Lee Edelman’s book No Future: Queer Theory and the Death Drive which encourages us to fuck the future and its coercive politics which are, he tells us, embodied in the fascist face of the Child. With each new book, conference, seminar series, each new masters program, we hear (yet again) that Queer Theory is over. Some argue that the unstoppable train of queer theory came to a halt in the late nineties having been swallowed up by its own fashionability. It had become, contrary to its own anti-assimilationist rhetoric, fashionable, very much included, rather than being the outlaw, it wanted to be. But the books and articles still continue to appear, the conferences continue to be held. And, if it were true that Queer Theory has been assimilated completely, become sedimented, completely domesticated (or at least capable of being domesticated) then it really would be over. Nobody would be reading any more for we would already know what was to come.
What’s So Queer About the Queer Theory To-Come?
This paper unpacks a number of the key terms which have preoccupied Jacques Derrida, after his so-called religio-ethico-political turn, from Force of Law (1989) to Voyous (2004): ‘autoimmunity’, ‘messianicity without messianism’, ‘arrivance’ and ‘democracy to-come’ among others. I will be discussing Derrida’s later texts especially Voyous/Rogues, which I will argue ought to become an important charter for a queer theory futurally envisaged, alongside the recent Social Text issue ‘What’s Queer about Queer Studies Now?’ (edited by David L. Eng, Judith Halberstam and José E. Mu oz, 2005) and Judith Butler’s more recent work (especially Giving an Account of Oneself, 2005). I suggest that autoimmunization, a somewhat new and ambiguous (and often negatively understood) term in the Derridean lexicon, offers a useful starting point for thinking about the undeterminable, monstrous, even roguish future of queer studies or what I call the queer theory to-come.
AG Queer Studies (Hg.): Verqueerte Verh ltnisse. Intersektionale, konomiekritische und strategische Interventionen. Hamburg: M nnerschwarm Verlag 2009.  [cached]

querelles-net , 2009,
The volume at hand contains articles on the current and intense debate over the necessity of queer theory’s clear position in relation to theories of economic critique and intersectionality. It does so using historical and current examples. Essays deserving of special note include an article by Jin Haritaworn that engages in current queer political discussions and an article by Jo Bucher and Angelika G res that highlights queer moments of resistance using a contemporary example. As was the case with the first volume of the AG Queer Studies at Hamburg University, published eight years ago, this volume is extremely current for the German-language market and is highly recommended.
Implications of Queer Theory for the Study of Religion and Gender: Entering the Third Decade  [cached]
Claudia Schippert
Religion and Gender , 2011,
Abstract: This essay explores the conceptual and contextual shifts in queer theoretical work as it is entering into its third decade of articulation. The essay reviews important recent themes in, and examines implications of, queer theoretical scholarship for the study of religion and gender. I suggest that among the implications are a (more) undisciplined study of religion (and secularism) that takes seriously shifts resulting from transnational and diasporic queer scholarship, shifts in conceptions of agency and resistance resulting from analyses and critique of homonormative positions, and can critically intervene in homonationalism and Islamophobia.
From here to queer? Pitfalls and possibilities
Clarke,Victoria; Peel,Elizabeth;
Ex aequo , 2009,
Abstract: in this article we consider the relationship between lesbian and gay psychology, latterly known as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (lgbtq) psychology and queer theory. we signal some ways that the field could become more intersectional by, for example, taking gender seriously, before turning our attention to queer theory. we explore some of the critiques of incorporating queer theory more fully into the field. in conclusion, we suggest that a tentative queering of lgbtq psychology will provide fruitful possibilities for the future of the field.
New Queer Cinema: Before and After  [PDF]
Nejat Ulusay
Fe Dergi : Feminist Ele?tiri , 2011,
Abstract: This work aims to focus on ‘New Queer Cinema’, a movement which emerged as part of the independent filmmaking in the USA of the 1990s, as well as represented by the films of few British directors. This work, which offers a brief history on the representation of homosexuality in Western cinema, also dwells on queer theory and queer film studies. After dealing with the directors of the ‘New Queer Cinema’ and their films, the work focuses on the aftermath of the movement.

Abstract: We give a brief survey of recent developments in the highest weight representation theory and the crystal basis theory of the quantum queer superalgebra $U_q(\mathfrak{q}(n))$.
Perturbation theory of von Neumann Entropy  [PDF]
Xiao-yu Chen
Physics , 2009, DOI: 10.1088/1674-1056/19/4/040308
Abstract: In quantum information theory, von Neumann entropy plays an important role. The entropies can be obtained analytically only for a few states. In continuous variable system, even evaluating entropy numerically is not an easy task since the dimension is infinite. We develop the perturbation theory systematically for calculating von Neumann entropy of non-degenerate systems as well as degenerate systems. The result turns out to be a practical way of the expansion calculation of von Neumann entropy.
