PASOS : Revista de Turismo y Patrimonio Cultural , 2008,
Abstract: This paper takes a multiple approach towards the study of the impact of Seville Expo 92. We start by identifying the social and cultural values of 50 professionals from the Sevilla, using the Hofstede model, adding some exploratory questions about the event, allowing understanding the perceived impact of the exhibition. We then have analyzed the Expo 92 reality through the case method by using longitudinal information. Results demonstrate how the socio and cultural values of Sevilla inhabitants have influenced the Expo 92 during its realization, but also after the event. Conclusions identify relevant con-tributions for future study on city events.

Abstract: The tourist organization of the International Horticultural Expo will deeply reflect the green Expo. In this paper, we focus on characteristic of the Expo, according to the related research and practical survey, propose an organization solution. On the basis of artificial neural network, regard the tourist flow as electric current, the sight spot as exciting point. Firstly, figure out the occupant density, construct standard ?k and the density curve. Then draw the tourist exciting curve by questionnaire and statistic. Finally, design the solution based on changing the exciting point and exciting degree.
Expo e sistemi innovativi per la mobilità Mega Events and innovative mobility system: the Expo transport lessons
Enrica Papa
TeMA : Journal of Land Use, Mobility and Environment , 2008,
Mega events have been defined as a form of “speeding up” for urban system transformation (Boeri 2008) and for the implementation of ground-breaking policies in host cities. This term is even more appropriate if is referred to the construction of pioneering mobility systems. Big events and in particular Expo constitute opportunities for the building up of innovative solution for urban mobility, the diffusion and the testing of new technology and prototypes. This article, starting from a review of international study cases, shows how the construction of mobility systems for International Expo is an occasion of testing and constructing innovative transport infrastructures oriented to the mobility of the future (Richards 2001). The article illustrate this phenomena trough the study of the evolution during the last fifty years of transport planning and design in ten different Expo, describing the main mobility challenges and the proposal for the mobility of the future. The study defines three different cluster of Expo: the first group of Expo is called the “progress and speed” Expo and reflect the general approach of mobility planning in the ‘60 and ‘70 Expo; the second cluster include the ‘80 and ‘90 Expo, that are defined as the “automobile dependence” Expo, in which the innovation for urban public transport was limited by the huge diffusion of cars in these decades. The last cluster are the new millennium Expo: the “zero emission” Expo, where the research for green mobility is the main transport challenge. Mega e
Research on the visitor flow pattern of Expo 2010  [PDF]

Computer Science , 2011,
Abstract: Expo 2010 Shanghai China was a successful, splendid and unforgettable event, remaining us with valuable experiences. The visitor flow pattern of Expo is investigated in this paper. The Hurst exponent, mean value and standard deviation of visitor volume prove that the visitor flow is fractal with long-term stability and correlation as well as obvious fluctuation in short period. Then the time series of visitor volume is converted to complex network by visibility algorithm. It can be inferred from the topological properties of the visibility graph that the network is scale-free, small-world and hierarchically constructed, conforming that the time series are fractal and close relationship exit between the visitor volume on different days. Furthermore, it is inevitable to show some extreme visitor volume in the original visitor flow, and these extreme points may appear in group to a great extent.

Informes de la Construccion , 1994,
Abstract: It is the first time that an expandable structure made of alluminium is built for architectural use. In this case, a model based on accordion-like folding system is conceived to cover a span of 30 x 20 m2. The setting up was done in only a few hours and folding was also possible to reuse the structure in another place. Characteristics of this structure are explained with some drawings and pictures to show its behaviour.
