Abstract: In this study, pH, temparature, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, sulphate, ammonium, nitrite and nitrate nitrogen concentrations before and after blending of leachate resulted from a mineland in Elazig city to Maden stream were determined and the changes in water quality of Maden stream were discussed.

Abstract: In this study, effect of leachate which result from a mine area in Elazig city on Maden stream was investigated. The concentrations of heavy metals (Cu, Ni, Mn, Co, Pb, Fe ve Mn) resulting from mine area were compared with the water quality criteria reported in the Water Pollution Control Regulations (WPCR) and it was determined that these concentrations adversely affected water quality.

Abstract: Researchers had scanned the complete CDS of rabbit KAP3.1 and KAP6.1 gene for the 1st time by PCR-SSCP and detected that their homology with mouse, chimpanzee, human, sheep and goat were >80%, suggesting that the two genes among different species kept high conservation in evolution. In this study, three genotypes and two alleles were found at KAP3.1-1 locus having one silent mutation (C91T) and there were two alleles and three genotypes in 5 un-translated region of KAP6.1 gene with the A 755 G mutation of the enhancer region. Herein, the distribution of these genotypes in all populations was consistent with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and showed intermediate or low diversity. The result suggested a theoretical reference to the breeding of rabbit wool quality whether KAP3.1 and KAP6.1 gene could be a molecular marker or not.

Abstract: At the time of Ottoman Empire the Kig town was the center oftownship and sanjak. Initially it was connected to the Diyarbekir state,then to the Erzurum state, before the World War I, finally it wasconnected to the Harput state. At that time, various mines were extractedin that township of which the most important was iron. The mine datesback to the Akkoyunlu State. In the Ottoman Empire’s period, itsproduction was interrupted for certain occasions.. Except for thoseoccasions, the production was continued by tacksmen and emeers.During his excursion to Revan (1635) or Ba dad (1638), IV Murat built ahumbarahane here. For a moment the production was halted; in 1735 itrevived again. In 1817 another case like this was repeated. In 1839 it wasclosed absolutely. The existence of mine helped the Ottoman mining, theeconomy of the region and weapon industry. The villagers in the vicinityof the mine were tax exempted for working in mine. The products; slabsand cannon humbaras were sent to the Erzurum castle. Also it had animportant role in fulfilling the need of ammunition of other castles in theEast border. if appropriated, the mine was used to fulfill the need ofammunition of Europe border through Trabzon port. Abstract: Curved crystal spectrograph is an effective diagnostic instrument of soft X-ray produced by laser plasmas, KAP is one of dispersion crystals for curved crystal spectrograph. Integrated reflectivity of KAP is calculated through components of atomic scattering factor and structure factor, and mosaic crystal model. It shows that integrated reflectivity of KAP is related to wavelength, which firstly decreases, then increases as wavelength increases. Moreover, the peak reflectivity, the full width at half-maximum, energy width and energy resolution are calculated, it shows that the peak reflectivity and energy resolution decrease as wavelength increases.

Yeast karyopherin Kap95 is required for cell cycle progression at Start

Abstract: When KAP95 was inactivated, most cells arrested at the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, which is in agreement with the results observed in mutants in the other components of this pathway. However, a number of cells accumulate at G1, suggesting a novel role of Kap95 and the classical import pathway at Start. We investigated the localization of Start transcription factors. It is known that Swi6 contains a classical NLS that interacts with importin α. Here we show that the in vivo nuclear import of Swi6 depends on Kap95. For Swi4, we identified a functional NLS between amino acids 371 and 376 that is sufficient and necessary for Swi4 to enter the nucleus. The nuclear import driven by this NLS is mediated by karyopherins Kap95 and Srp1. Inactivation of Kap95 also produces a dramatic change in the localization of Mbp1 since the protein is mainly detected in the cytoplasm. Two functionally redundant Kap95- and Srp1-dependent NLSs were identified in Mbp1 between amino acids 27-30 and 166-181. Nuclear accumulation was not completely abolished in a kap95 mutant or in the Mbp1 mutated in the two NLSs, suggesting that alternative pathways might contribute to the Mbp1 nuclear import to a lesser extent.Kap95 plays an essential role at the initiation of the cell cycle by driving the nuclear import of Swi4, Swi6 and Mbp1, the three transcription factors responsible for the gene expression at Start. This transport depends on the specific nuclear localization signals present in cargo proteins.In eukaryotic cells, the basic cellular functions occurring inside the nucleus, like transcription or DNA replication, require the transport of proteins across the nuclear envelope. Abstract: ?目的了解大学生性KAP现状及变迁,探讨性道德对现代青年KAP的影响,为制定符合国情的青少年生殖健康规划提供依据。方法用描述流行病学的方法于2000年对在昆四所高校1190名19~22岁未婚青年作性道德及性KAP的匿名调查,并与1994年4189名大学生的同质资料作比较;用分析流行病学的方法作不同道德观青年KAP的比较。结果(1)有24%认为童贞对男女都不重要,16%认为婚前性行为对男女无害,15%认为性行为是对爱的承诺。高达57%的人对婚前性行为持宽容态度,70%的人赞成大学生谈恋爱,有48%的人谈过恋爱,其中37%谈过两次以上,54%遭遇失恋。上述KAP具男>女,城>乡的现象。(2)与1994年同质资料相比,赞成婚前同居的男生为32%较前下降5%,而女生18%则上扬了5.6%;可能与友发生性行为的男女较1994年增长3.4%.(3)未婚青年性KAP间呈高度相关(r=0.45~0.81,P<0.01);对童贞持否定道德观的青年性KAP开放度是持肯定观的2.3~78倍(95%IC1.57%~10.91%,P<0.01)。结论大学生性KAP具有高度相关性,并有日趋开放之势。传统的贞洁观对性态度/行为仍具有较大约束力,性道德教育仍将是我国青少年生殖健康规划中不可忽视的重要干预措施之一。
Loss of ZBRK1 Contributes to the Increase of KAP1 and Promotes KAP1-Mediated Metastasis and Invasion in Cervical Cancer  [PDF]

Abstract: ZBRK1, a zinc finger protein that interacts with breast cancer 1 (BRCA1) and KRAB-ZFP-associated protein 1 (KAP1), has been suggested to serve as a tumor suppressor via repression of tumor metastasis/invasion. To date, the detailed molecular mechanisms for how BRCA1 and KAP1 participate in ZBRK1-mediated transcriptional repression, metastasis and invasion as well as the associated clinical relevance remain unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that both the N- and C-terminal domains of ZBRK1 are important for inhibiting cell proliferation and anchorage-independent growth in cervical cancer. Specifically, the N-terminal KRAB domain of ZBRK1 displayed a more crucial role in inhibiting metastasis and invasion through modulation of KAP1 function in a transcriptionally dependent manner. The loss of ZBRK1 results in an increase of KAP1 expression, which enhanced migration and invasion of cervical cancer cells both the in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, an inverse correlation of expression levels was observed between ZBRK1 and KAP1 following tumor progression from in situ carcinoma to invasive/metastatic cervical cancer specimens. Taken together, the current results indicate that a loss of ZBRK1 contributes to the increased expression of KAP1, potentiating its role to enhance metastasis and invasion.
Effect of IGF-1 on Expression of GH Receptor, IGF-1, IGF-1 Receptor, KAP3.2 and KAP6-1 mRNA in the Skin of Sheep  [cached]

Abstract: Thirty-six healthy and similar Chinese Merino sheep were selected and divided into six groups at random. The treatment group was injected intradermally with 0.5 mL IGF-1 (10ng/mL). Treatment skin tissue of sheep were sampled respectively for 0,3,6,9,12 and 50 days and the skin expression of growth hormone receptor (GHR), insulin-like growth factor1 (IGF-1), insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF- R), KAP3.2 and KAP6-1 mRNA were measured by RT-PCR. The results indicated that IGF-1 could degrade GHR gene expression, have no effect of IGF-1 and IGF-1R gene expression, and increase significantly KAP3.2 and KAP6-1 gene expression. Taken together these findings that the improvement of KAP3.2 and KAP6-1 gene expression may correlates with other pathway beyond the insulin-like growth factor axis.
