Reconsidering Kinship: Beyond the Nuclear Family with Deleuze and Guattari  [cached]
Timothy Laurie,Hannah Stark
Cultural Studies Review , 2012,
Abstract: Deleuze and Guattari have often received attention for their criticisms of bourgeois families in Anti-Oedipus, but their speculations about non-heteronormative kinship practices have rarely been addressed in Deleuze studies and are yet to be taken up in the study of kinship and the family more generally. This paper is then the first to offer their work on the family to a general academic audience as a useful tool in polarised debates about contemporary family practices. It begins with a close reading of the relationship between desire, capitalism and the private nuclear family in Anti-Oedipus before extending the political use-value of this with the concept of the ‘majoritarian’ taken from A Thousand Plateaus. The second half of the paper brings Deleuze and Guattari into engagement with the larger critical field of kinship studies as an entry point into topical debates about the ‘normative’ family and its alternatives.
Palombini, Analice de Lima;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822009000400007
Abstract: examining the conceptual elaborations of jacques lacan on the one hand and of either gilles deleuze or gilles deleuze and félix guattari on the other, through the reverberations upon lacan of that which deleuze and guattari write and vice-versa we hear writings that speak to one another. even if not always explicit, this conversation has marked the productions of these authors productions in a decisive manner, bespeaking the effectiveness of a dialogue that engenders movements and transformations as it brings its differences into play.
Deleuze, Guattari : peut-on faire l’histoire d’un agencement ?
Hervé Regnauld
EspacesTemps.net , 2008,
Reinaldo Furlan
DoisPontos , 2011,
Abstract: First, we investigate the pertinence of Deleuze-Guattari's criticisms to the philosophy of the flesh, in Merleau-Ponty, particularly this criticism of introducing the image of the transcendent in the immanence of the experience. Finally, we outline the possibility of the affection concept in Deleuze-Guattari be a way of addressing the ontological issue that Merleau-Ponty faced, overcoming the boundaries of the flesh concept, particularly the one of the supposed ambiguity still present in the pair "flesh of the world" and my flesh, according to the criticism of Renaud Barbaras.
Abstract: We propose to study the thought of Gilles Deleuze and Leo Strauss from the stand point of the opposed interpretation than this two influential philosophers of the twentieth century have made of the political ontology of Spinoza. Both share a common problematic: how substance and existent modes do relate. But where Strauss makes a call to Revelation and the demand to love one’s neighbour to fulfil the gulf, and avoid that being wise means to expel the suffering of the multitude from the sphere of one’s own life, Deleuze posits an interpretation of the theory of finite modes that allows us to distinguish the stand point of Eternity from that of Duration, without by doing so subjecting finite modes to the random order of encounters, that is, allowing them to find their conatus in divine power.
Cardoso Jr., Hélio Rebello;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2007000100003
Abstract: this paper begins with the proposal of a "pedagogy of concept" according to deleuze and guattari. on this basis, i emphasize and explore the assertion that every thought demands relational traces" as their internal condition". among the relational traces defined by this pedagogy of concept, i selected "friend" as a character who distinguishes a given thought. i try, after that, to define, generally what friend and the scene of friendship in plato's, nietzsche's, heidegger's and foucault's philosophies are.

Abstract: The present paper gives an account of the main lines that articulate the concept of territoriality with the creative act, in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. To accomplish this, we will analyze the concept of refrain (la ritournelle), just as the French philosophers expose it in the book Mille Plateaux (1980). The refrain, as will be evident, is axial in the composition and role of the notion of territoriality, regarding the creation or production of territories in any field of human existence. Thus, the dynamics of the territories, studied from the concept of refrain, allows us, first, to identify the joints of the implicit theory of creation that runs nearly in all the work of Deleuze and Guattari; and secondly, to throw light on one of the concepts more gravitating (but less studied) in the philosophy of the French thinkers, namely, the concept of refrain.
Guillaume Sibertin-Blanc
Astérion , 2005,
Abstract: The problematical point is the relations between the State and war with respect to the notion of machine of war . Based on this concept, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari intend : to analyse the way state machines capture social forces in order to produce and reproduce their own strength of administration, control and repression in the immanent social praxis ; to connect this heterogenesis of State power with a genealogy of war ; to reform marxist concepts of State power, State apparatus, primitive accumulation and State capitalism in the light of the leading role of the economy of war in the development of capitalism.
