La fin des temps : millénarisme chrétien et temporalités The end of Time: Christian millennialism and temporalities
Claude Dubar
The article suggests and pursues the interpretation of Christian millennialism - that sprang from Saint-John’s Apocalypse and ancient Judaic prophesies – proposed by Max Weber’s but adding the question of how past, present and future temporalities interrelate. Applying the method of differences, it confronts several historical occasions when millennialism was either promoted or condemned: during the first centuries of Christianity, particularly with Saint Augustine in the 1Vth century; Joachim de Flore in the XIIIth century; Thomas Munzer and the Anabaptist Commune in the 1960-70s. The comparison casts light on various temporal configurations of the Utopia of the End of Time.
Des flux migratoires aux carrières migratoires  [cached]
Marco Martiniello,Andrea Rea
SociologieS , 2011,
Abstract: Les auteurs proposent un cadre théorique nouveau qui articule les niveaux macro, méso et micro que la sociologie des migrations traditionnellement disjoint. Cette approche alternative s’appuie sur le concept de carrière, un classique en sociologie. Il propose le concept de carrières migratoires qui permettrait d’intégrer les effets des structures d’opportunités, les caractéristiques des individus et les effets des réseaux. From migration flow to migratory careers. Elements for a new theoretical perspective on contemporary mobility perspectiveThe authors present a new theoretical framework articulating macro, mess and micro levels of analysis, which often are disconnected in sociology of migration. This alternative approach rests on the classical sociological concept of career. The concept of migratory career integrates structures of opportunities, individual characteristic and networks to make sense of the migratory experience.
Domestic Temporalities: Sensual Patterning in Persian Migratory Landscapes
Simone Dennis, Megan Warin
Indo-Pacific Journal of Phenomenology , 2007,
Abstract: When dealing with the moving worlds of migration among the Persian diaspora in Australia, memories cannot simply be removed to dusty attic boxes to be stored as an archive. Rather, this analysis takes the body and its sensory engagement with the world as a central focus, arguing that memories are crafted, tasted, smelt and touched in everyday temporalities. In the kitchens and lounges of Persian migrant women the lived past refuses to become undone from the countless revolutions of food, talk and domestic activity that are central to the patterning of memory. In this paper, we argue that these intimate practices have references beyond their domestic dimensions, for they point to a worldly movement of life writ domestically small. It is via a sensory network that the spatially and temporally disparate worlds of homeland and new homes are remembered and forgotten, and where miniature worlds call out to the movement of migration. Tense SHn--algebras  [PDF]

Mathematics , 2012,
Abstract: In 1982, L. Iturrioz introduced symmetrical Heyting algebras of order n (or SHn-algebras). In this paper, we define and study tense SHn-algebras namely, SHn-algebras endowed with two tense operators. These algebras constitute a generalization of tense Lukasiewicz-Moisil algebras. Our main interest is the duality theory for tense SHn- algebras. In order to do this, we requiere Esakia's duality for Heyting algebras and Goldblatt's duality for bounded distributive lattices with operations.
Temporalités dans la recherche biomédicale : la science au travail saisie par le temps Temporalities in biomedical research: time as a factor in scientific work Temporalidades en la investigación biomédica: el trabajo científico atrapado por el tiempo  [cached]
Philippe Brunet
The article seeks to understand and analyse the growing importance of time in scientific work. Science is usually seen as an activity with an intrinsic rhythm that seems to escape time. Based on the phenomenon of contextualisation, however, we will show that time has become a way of measuring work processes. Using data from a biomedical research laboratory study, the analysis identifies three time scales: an intrinsic professional temporality; an extrinsic social temporality; and a hybrid managerial temporality. It is at the interface between these three temporalities that tensions affect laboratory work processes. The main issue at stake is scientists’ professional autonomy. In the case being analysed here, managerial temporality appears as something that measures time in science and protects the autonomy thereof.
Tense and aspect in Lamnso  [PDF]
Lendzemo Constantine Yuka
Studii de Lingvistica , 2012,
Abstract: Yuka (1997) has identified three broad tenses in Lamnso’2. A closer look at these tenses and their specification of time reference willreveal a more complex tense structure of multiple past and future timeallusions that distinguish different degrees of remoteness to the pastand future tense categories. This paper seeks to determine the variousdegrees of remoteness to a given tense category exhibited in Lamnso’. This paper investigates the relative relationship(s) between a tense marker that denotes the time of an action and the time reference preceding or following that action within the clause. It also examines aspect, interpreted as the way of conceiving the flow of an event (Comrie, 1976). This study identifies seven tense forms for Lamnso’ (P3, P2, P1, P0, F1, F2 and F3.), which specify time distinctions from the remote past (P3) to the remote future (F3)) and three aspect forms. These ten tense and aspect forms combine with distinctive tones and time adverbials to derive a time reference structure whose cut-off points are sometimes fluid and non-rigid.
On Tense MV-algebras  [PDF]
Michal Botur,Jan Paseka
Mathematics , 2013,
Abstract: The main aim of this article is to study tense MV-algebras which are just MV-algebras with new unary operations $G$ and $H$ which express a universal time quantifiers. Tense MV-algebras were introduced by D. Diagonescu and G. Georgescu. Using a new notion of an fm-function between MV-algebras we \zruseno{will prove} \zmena{settle a half of their Open problem about representation for some classes of tense MV-algebras, i.e., we show} that any tense semisimple MV-algebra is induced by a time frame analogously to classical works in this field of logic. As a by-product we obtain a new characterization of extremal states on MV-algebras.
Hizbollah: The Battle over Lebanon
Eyal Zisser
Military and Strategic Affairs , 2009,
Abstract: The rise of Hizbollah and its status in Lebanon should be understood in light of two central phenomena. The first is the rise of Shiite power in Lebanon. The second phenomenon in understanding Hizbollah's power and standing is the Islamic regime in Iran and its strategic aspirations in the region. Nasrallah once claimed to be the one who could read Israel better than anyone else in the Arab world, whereas today it seems he realizes that is not the case. The immunity we attributed to Nasrallah has been lifted; he is no longer the invincible leader. The Second Lebanon War made an important contribution to this process.
In a context of new presidential elections in Argentina the article analyses the changes in territorial policy within this country of the Southern Cone, in the light of migration policies adopted since the mid-2000’s. While it had always promoted European immigration, the Argentinean State is opening up to migrants from neighbouring countries and seeking to establish a policy more consistent with the migration realities of its territory, through the adoption of the Law Giustiniani (2004) and the “Patria Grande” plan (2005). The revival of the Mercosur integration process is the main engine to this opening; the new migration policy is implemented at the local and provincial level. Though this does not yet guarantee a social and economic integration process of migrants from bordering countries, the State at least acknowledges their role in building the national territory.
A Tentative Study of the English Tense from a Metaphorical Perspective
Linying Cao
International Journal of English Linguistics , 2012, DOI: 10.5539/ijel.v2n5p25
Abstract: The English tense system has always been one of the main subjects for linguists and grammarians. This paper adopts the metaphorical approach to study the English tense. By analyzing the prototypical uses of the present tense and the past tense, the author gives a convincing and reasonable explanation of these various uses of the English tense. The metaphorical approach used in this paper provides a new perspective for the study of the English tense. The metaphorical mapping processes of the past tense and the present tense reflect the universal cognitive mechanism of human beings, that is, learners acquire knowledge from known to unknown. The last but not least, the new interpretations of the different uses of the English tense offers a practical help for the teaching and learning of tense.
