Abstract: Este artículo se encarga de describir, analizar y reconstruir la vida y obra de Romeo Murga, poeta chileno casi desconocido de la década del 20, que falleció tempranamente (antes de cumplir los 21 a os), al igual ue otros compa eros de su generación. En este trabajo, Teillier se siente atraído por esta joven figura de la lírica chilena, pues Murga forma parte de una generación caracterizada por la formulación de una poesía poco intelectual, sentimental, romántica y antimoderna, que pasó al olvido por la muerte prematura de sus integrantes y la sombra que proyecta Neruda. Teillier destaca, finalmente, la importancia que tuvo en la consagración de esta joven generación los ejercicios poéticos destinados al Elogio a la Reina en las Fiestas de la Primavera.

Abstract: Reading Romeo and Juliet from Jacques Derrida's perspective provides us with new insight to Shakespeare's portrayal of love. As an early tragedy, Romeo and Juliet is a study of the nature of love. Many believe that the play still follows the lead of the comedies in presenting its major theme. However, drawing upon Derrida's deconstruction of the play, we have shown that love as an idea, a word, or a nomenclature, follows the same aporetic law of the proper name in that it is split, not unified, contradictory, not lucidly meaningful. We have demonstrated the multiplicity of love's identity despite the universally unifying attributes attached to it by the individual characters inside the play. In short, this reading reveals that identity in general, and the identity of love in particular, is not fixed, that they are products of textuality.

Abstract: Is Romeo and Juliet relevant to a description of the Middle-East conflict? This is the question raised in Compromise, an Israeli documentary that follows the Jerusalem Khan Theater's production of the play in the mid-1990's. This paper describes how the cinematic documentation of a theatrical Shakespeare production can undermine the original intentions of its creators. This staging of the play was carefully planned in order to demonstrate to the country and the world that Israelis and Palestinians are willing to search for a peaceful solution in the Middle East: Two directors - Israeli -Eran Baniel and Palestinian Fuad Awad - co-directed both Israeli and Palestinian actors, using both languages: Arabic and Hebrew. This seemingly balanced solution was acclaimed on European television but for Israeli director Even, this was only a fa ade. Following backstage situation, Compromise reveals the truth behind the mask in order to denounce the manipulative use of what Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben defines as state of emergency, which is the hegemonic mechanism that deprives people of the elementary civil rights. Questioning the issue of co-existence against the political background of the 1990's (including bomb attacks and the signing of the Camp David Treaty in 1993), the film plays on the discrepancy between the denouement of Romeo and Juliet and the unsolvable situation in which people in the Middle-East - amongst them the actors themselves- are condemned to live.

Abstract: Huellas en Don Cayetano es el análisis, mediante el método sistémico-estructural, del cuento Don Cayetano el informal, de Alfonso Hernández Catá. Tiene como objetivo mostrar, a través de la valoración de diferentes estructuras narratológicas, las coincidencias en la trilogía Catá - Martí - Don Cayetano, y la incidencia de una época importante para Cuba en el ideario de su autor. Abstract: Giulietta e Romeo, une création nationaliste en ordre de marche se veut une lecture croisée de l’ uvre de Shakespeare à travers le regard du compositeur Riccardo Zandonai confronté à la tradition littéraire et musicale européenne et à travers celui du public et des critiques italiens dans un contexte historique marqué par le renforcement de l’idée nationale et la montée du nationalisme fasciste. Si rien dans le drame (texte et musique) ne laisse transpara tre les forces antagonistes en présence, les paratextes (lettres, articles de journaux...) nous livrent nombre de détails significatifs pour notre analyse. Si le compositeur souhaite l’adhésion du public italien en faisant référence, dans sa création, aux sources italiennes du drame et non au texte de Shakespeare, le choix pour cette uvre particulière le relie, de fa on détournée, à la tradition littéraire et musicale européenne. S’il refuse, par ce biais, le modernisme des avant-gardes, il n’échappera pas, dans l’après-coup – la date de création de l’opéra en 1922 est aussi très symboliquement celle de la marche sur Rome et la prise de pouvoir par Mussolini –, à une lecture nationaliste de l’opéra par un pouvoir étatique fasciste. This article analyses Riccardo Zandonai’s Giulietta e Romeo as a reading of Shakespeare’s tragedy through the double perspective of the eyes of the composer, immersed in the European literary and musical tradition, and those of the public and of the critics in the historical context of widespread nationalism and rising fascism. If nothing in the opera hints at the antagonistic forces at work, the paratext, letters and newspaper articles, provides significant details. If the composer seeks his Italian audience’s approval by referring to the medieval Italian sources of the story and not to Shakespeare’s play, this choice indirectly links him in a roundabout way to the European literary and musical tradition. If he then refuses the modernism of the avant-garde, he will not manage to prevent his opera from being interpreted as a nationalistic work by the fascist state, as, significantly, his opera was first performed in 1922, the year of Mussolini’s March on Rome and seizure of power.
Sexual Pun: A Case Study of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet

Abstract: In general, puns are of great artistic value which imbue and enrich a literary work with secondary and tertiary meanings. Because of the double or triple-tiered meanings involved, this stylistic device is not easily amenable to translation; however, the problems can still pile up where one of the given meanings of a pun refers to the genitals and with sexuality coming to the fore. The present study aims to analyze the translations of Shakespearean sexual puns in one of his famous plays, viz. Romeo and Juliet. In fact, sexual puns bear serious repercussions for many translating languages which have to be handled with care. Empirical analysis is based on the English source text and five translations, two French ones rendered by Hugo and Jouve, one Italian version by Raponi and two Persians by Naziri and Pazargadi. Having analyzed the ST and TT pairs as regards sexual pun, it was observed, interestingly enough, that in almost all the cases in the three mentioned languages, the sexuality aspect of the punnistic words had been deleted, euphemized and normalized; hence, culminating in loss of punning activity. Key words: Romeo and Juliet; Sexual pun; Pun; Strategies; Translation Résumé En général, les jeux de mots sont de grande valeur artistique qui imprégner et d'enrichir une oeuvre littéraire avec des significations secondaires et tertiaires. En raison des significations des doubles ou des triples niveaux impliqués, cette figure de style n’est pas facile de les faire la traduction, mais les problèmes peuvent encore s’amonceler dans l’une des significations données d’un jeu de mot se réfère aux organes génitaux et à la sexualité à venir au premier plan. La présente étude vise à analyser les traductions de Shakespeare calembours sexuels dans une de ses célèbres pièces de théatre, à savoir. Roméo et Juliette. En fait, les jeux de mots sexuels porter de graves répercussions pour de nombreux langages traduction qui doivent être manipulés avec soin. L’analyse empirique est basée sur le texte source anglais et cinq traductions, deux en fran ais fournis par Hugo et Jouve, une version italienne par Raponi et deux Persans par Naziri et Pazargadi. Après avoir analysé les paires ST et TT en ce qui concerne calembour sexuelle, il a été observé, assez curieusement, que dans presque tous les cas dans les trois langues mentionnées, l’aspect sexualité des mots punnistic avait été supprimé, euphémisée et normalisée; donc, aboutissant à perte d’activité calembour. Abstract: RESUMEN Las complejas circunstancias que normalmente rodean la realización de una obra de arquitectura, dificultan la simultánea sistematización de la reflexión y la transferencia de la experiencia. Nos vemos provocados a recuperar progresivamente ese conocimiento especialmente cuando el paso de los a os identifica a una arquitectura como obra maestra para la arquitectura actual, como ocurre con el grupo residencial Romeo y Julieta. Este artículo pretende contribuir a facilitar su conocimiento compilando información, incidiendo en algunos detalles menores que habitualmente se obvian y aportando nuevas fotografías y dibujos realizados para esta ocasión. Como consecuencia surgen las relaciones desde la experiencia concreta de esta obra con la producción previa y posterior de Hans Scharoun y vuelve a brillar la trayectoria investigadora del arquitecto. SUMMARY The complex circumstances that typically surround the making of a work of architecture, hinder the simultaneous systematization of reflection and the transfer of experience. We are gradually brought to recover that knowledge, especially when the passage of time identifies a building as a masterpiece for current architecture, as has occurred with the ‘Romeo and Julia’ residential group. This article aims to raise awareness of them by gathering information, focusing on small details that are usually ignored and adding new photographs and drawings made for this occasion. As a result, relationships arise from the specific experience of this work with the previous and later production of Hans Scharoun and the research career of the architect shines again.
