A no o husserliana de subjetividade transcendental  [PDF]
Onate, Alberto Marcos
Veritas , 2006,
Based on Cartesian cogito, but also submitting it to important reformations, Husserl develops his own concept of transcendental subjectivity. These reformations concern especially the topics of time, reduction and intersubjectivity. This article intends to present and discuss the link of these themes, aiming contribute to the comprehension of the status of transcendental in husserlian phenomenology.
Violenta si corporalitate/ Violence and Corporality  [cached]
Francisc Baja
Journal for the Study of Religions and Ideologies , 2003,
Abstract: The relation between violence and corporality is no more or less than teleological, a relation that had a huge impact upon an older one, between mind and body, or soul and body. This teleology of violence was made possible by the political investiture of the body. The extermination camp becomes the symbol and the symptom where the relations between mind and body were broke. Torture, as a limit experience, brings us in front of a revolt of the soul against the body, a revolt that prolongs into the social life. In this way de-corporality becomes a simple mechanism of defense, which affects, perhaps forever, the feature of this fragile alliance between mind and body, while the principle that starts to govern the soul becomes: there is no sufferings where is no body.
A atualidade da ética husserliana  [PDF]
Fabri, Marcelo
Veritas , 2006,
The paper argues for today’s relevance of Husserl’s phenomenological ethics, by three complementary thematic points. The first one is the relation between theoretical reason and practical reason on phenomenology; the second, the concept of an authentic humanity; finally, the phenomenological reflection on the alien. The main hypothesis is: Husserl does pave the way for the overcoming of two radical attitudes in ethics, namely, biological skepticism and abstract universalism.
A leitura husserliana da história da filosofia = Husserlian reading of the history of Philosophy  [cached]
Alberto Marcos Onate
Acta Scientiarum : Human and Social Sciences , 2007,
The article explains and discusses how Edmund Husserl apropriates the history of philosophy to develop his own phenomenological conceptions. Dating back from the Greeks until modern times, onesame theoretical orientation was developed, which culminates with the formulation of the phenomenological reduction and of the transcendental subjectivity.
Defending Husserlian Phenomenology from Terry Eagleton’s Critique  [PDF]
Bailan Qin
Advances in Literary Study (ALS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/als.2013.12003
Abstract: This article develops, illustrates, and defends Husserlian Phenomenology from a critique in Terry Eagleton’s Literary Theory: An Introduction second edition (1996). Husserlian Phenomenology is construed as a methodology of philosophical hunt for certainty and universal essences by pure perception through“phenomenological reduction”. Eagleton’s charge that Husserlian Phenomenology is a form of methodological idealism necessarily committed to a science of subjectivity and an imaginary solution to the world that leads to the sacrifice of human history. But Husserlian phenomenology insists that meaningful and potentially efficacious certainty must be connected to relevant entity and consciousness internal to the culture or social order at which the criticism is directed. Thus, to our defense, the complaint that phenomenological demand will likely limit actual historical backgroundwherecriticism is denied, and the ability of Husserlian Phenomenology to develop from pure phenomenon to unphenomenological thinking is defended and demonstrated.

Abstract: The article focuses on the research of the impact of social factors on human body through the prism literary texts of modernist period. The material of the analysis is the corpus of literary prose by Virginia Woolf. By means of linguistic (semantic and conceptual) analysis of the literary text the vision of corporality characteristic of the modernist period is revealed as well as specific features of interaction of human being and society that found bodily reflection in the imagery space of V. Woolf’s prose.
(Mis)Appropriations of Gadamer in Qualitative Research: A Husserlian Critique (Part 1)
Marc H Applebaum
Indo-Pacific Journal of Phenomenology , 2011,
Abstract: Within the Husserlian phenomenological philosophical tradition, description and interpretation co-exist. However, teaching the practice of phenomenological psychological research requires careful articulation of the differences between a descriptive and an interpretive relationship to what is provided by qualitative data. If as researchers we neglect the epistemological foundations of our work or avoid working through difficult methodological issues, then our work invites dismissal as inadequate science, undermining the effort to strongly establish psychology along qualitative lines. The first article in this two-part discussion provides a Husserlian investigation of the meaning of ‘method’ for psychology as a human science. This investigation is undertaken in the light of some researchers’ appropriations of Gadamer’s philosophical hermeneutics in the service of non-methodical praxes. The second article will address some implications of the attempt to structure qualitative psychological research along ‘Gadamerian’ lines, taking seriously the references to Gadamer’s work made by researchers such as Van Manen and Smith.
The roots of teleology in early Husserlian phenomenology
 [PDF]

- , 2017, DOI: 1672-3104(2017)02-0021-08
Abstract: Edmund Husserl talked about phenomenological teleology mainly in his later years of life, but the roots of teleology had already been contained in his early works. The present essay, by interpreting the two concepts of fulfilling and protention, illustrates that the teleology has already been included in early Husserl's discussion of the intentionality and the consciousness of internal time. The dynamic relation between protention and fulfilling indicates that there are teleological tendencies in intentional epistemology, and that the protentional function of the consciousness of internal time not only reveals the laws in the construction of consciousness but also infuses the teleology into the entire stream of consciousness. The manifestations of teleology in early Husserl are not only basis for phenomenological teleology but also of great importance for understanding the development of Husserlian philosophy
