Abstract: We proposed voltage-sourced converter (VSC) with Pulse-width modulation (PWM) provides a faster control that is required for flicker mitigation purpose. The voltage regulation in the distribution feeder is improved by installing a shunt compensator. The proposed DSTATCOM is modeled and its performance is simulated and verified for power factor correction and voltage regulation along with neutral current compensation, harmonic elimination and load balancing with linear loads and non-linear loads. The three phase three wire Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) is proposed for power quality improvement. DSTATCOM is based on a three leg VSC and is controlled to compensate reactive power, harmonic current and unbalances in the load. IGBT based VSC is capacitor supported and is controlled for the required compensation of the load current.

Abstract: This paper presents the load compensation by diesel generator. In this compensation reactive power, harmonics and unbalanced load current generates because of linear or nonlinear loads. The control of Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) is used for reactive power, harmonics and unbalanced load current compensation. Proportional – Integral (PI) controller is used to maintain a constant voltage at the dc – bus of a voltage – source converter (VSC) working as a DSTATCOM. Switching of ThreeLevel VSC is achieved by controlling load current using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) control. This scheme is simulated under MATLAB environment using simulink toolboxes for feeding linear and nonlinear loads. The modeling is performed for a three – phase, three – wire star – connected synchronous generator coupled to a diesel engine, along with the three level inverter based VSC working as a DSTATCOM.

Abstract: Multilevel inverter has played a vital role in medium and high power applications in the recent years. In this paper, Reduced Switch Count Multi Level Inverter structure (RSCMLI) topology is presented with different pulse width modulation techniques. The harmonic level analysis is carried out for the reduced switch count multilevel inverter with the different PWM technique such as with Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD) method, In Phase Disposition (IPD) methodand multi reference pulse width modulation method for five level, seven level , nine level and eleven level inverter. The simulation results are compared with the cascaded H Bridge Multi Level Inverter (CHBMLI). The nine level RSCMLI inverter with APOD method is used for the Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) application in the nonlinear load connected systemfor power factor improvement. The result shows that the harmonic level and the number of switches required for RSCMLI is reduced compared to CHBMLI. RSCMLI employed in DSTATCOM improves the power factor and harmonic level of the system when it is connected to the nonlinear load.

Abstract: Load balancing is very important to the efficiency of parallel rendering.This paper brought forward a model of two phase mapping of dynamic load-balancing algorithm,and gave a method for measuring its performance.It gave one of the best assignment algorithms of multi-task,analyzed the performance of this algorithm,and acquired a result of an upper limited time of parallel rendering in theoretically.Some partitioning strategies of multitask were also given.

Abstract: Based on ServiceBSP model, a hierarchical resource load balancing algorithm with Multi-Agent is put forward in this paper which achieves the goal of dynamic load balancing and favorable Fault-tolerant. The algorithm calculates the load value according to the attributes of resource and scheduling tasks relies on the load value, while updating the load information dynamically depending on Multi-Agent. The method avoids frequent communications on load information. Furthermore, the paper introduces the function of agents, relations and communications among agents in details. Finally, by comparing response time and distribution of load using proposed method with other available methods such as without no load balancing and load balancing only giving regards to CPU, the experimental simulation shows that the load balancing based on Multi-Agent possesses superior performance on response time and load balancing.

Abstract: This paper presents the application of DSTATCOM in a distribution network with induction furnace load. Inductionfurnace is one of the common types of load used in industries like the steel industry. The problem with the induction furnaceload is the generation of appreciable amount of harmonic distortion. This distortion results due to the design and operation ofthe induction furnace. This harmonic distortion can even affect the performance of other loads connected in the system.DSTATCOM is a shunt connected custom power device to improve the power quality. Abstract: The policy in dynamic load balancing, classification and function are variety based on the focus study for each research. They are different but employing the same strategy to obtain the load balancing. The communication processes between policies are explored within the dynamic load balancing and decentralized approaches. At the same time the computation processes also take into consideration for further steps. Multi-agent system characteristics and capabilities are explored too. The unique capabilities offered by multi-agent systems can be integrated or combined with the structure of dynamic load balancing to produce a better strategy and better load balancing algorithm.

Abstract: This paper presents an investigation of five-Level Cascaded H – bridge (CHB) Inverter as Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) in Power System (PS) for compensation of reactive power and harmonics. The advantages of CHB inverter are low harmonic distortion, reduced number of switches and suppression of switching losses. The DSTATCOM helps to improve the power factor and eliminate the Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) drawn from a Non-Liner Diode Rectifier Load (NLDRL). The D-Q reference frame theory is used to generate the reference compensating currents for DSTATCOM while Proportional and Integral (PI) control is used for capacitor dc voltage regulation. A CHB Inverter is considered for shunt compensation of a 11 kV distribution system. Finally a level shifted PWM (LSPWM) and phase shifted PWM (PSPWM) techniques are adopted to investigate the performance of CHB Inverter. The results are obtained through Mat lab / Simulink software package.

Abstract: In a three phase power system, the voltages at the generation side are in sinusoidal and equal in magnitude with 120? phase difference between the phases. However, at the load side voltages may become unbalanced due to unequal voltage magnitudes at the fundamental frequency, phase angle deviations or unequal distribution of single phase loads. The voltage unbalance is a major power quality issue, because a small unbalance in the phase voltages can cause a larger unbalance in the phase currents. A completely balanced three-phase three wire system contains only positive sequence components of voltage, current and impedance, whereas unbalanced system contains both positive and negative sequence components of voltages and currents. The negative sequence component of current in the unbalanced system increases the temperature and losses in the equipments. Hence, it is necessary to mitigate this problem by supplying the negative sequence current to the load at the load side and keep the source side balanced. This paper proposes the shunt connected, current injecting Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) with appropriate controller to mitigate the unbalanced load current. The symmetrical components based Hysteresis Current Controller (HCC) is designed for DSTATCOM to diminish the unbalances in a three-phase three-wire system. The performance of the controller is studied by simulating the entire system in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The DSTATCOM with HCC is found to be better than other controllers because it is suitable for compensating both balanced and unbalanced loads.
