Ruído e equilíbrio: aplica??o da posturografia dinamica em indústria gráfica

Abstract: purpose: to assess the body balance of individuals exposed to occupational noise in a printing industry. this is a descriptive, retrospective study. methods: the objective measurement of body balance was performed by the method of dynamic posturography, using the protocol of sensorial integration tests. we evaluated the responses of 34 male subjects, divided into two groups, with 16 workers exposed to noise aged 45.81 ± 7.38 years and 16 subjects with no exposure to occupational noise aged 41.31 ± 5.58 years. the average exposure time was 20.00 ± 8.0046 years. the results were compared using the t test, considering statistically significant differences as the p value less than or equal to 0.05. results: all tests showed statistically significant differences among the groups, with individuals exposed to occupational noise showing demoted values of body balance in relation to non-exposed ones. conclusion: the occupational noise exposure is associated with a worse performance in the assessment of balance in all conditions tested by dynamic posturography.

Abstract: O uso de drogas ilícitas e álcool pode afetar o equilíbrio corporal. OBJETIVO: Avaliar o equilíbrio corporal à posturografia estática em dependentes de drogas ilícitas, com ou sem abuso de álcool. Desenho de Estudo: Caso controle prospectivo. MéTODOS: Quarenta e sete usuários de drogas ilícitas, com ou sem abuso de álcool e um grupo controle homogêneo constituído de 47 indivíduos hígidos foram submetidos a uma avalia o otoneurológica, incluindo a posturografia do Balance Rehabilitation Unit. RESULTADOS: A média dos valores da área do limite de estabilidade foi significantemente menor (p < 0,0001) no grupo usuários de drogas ilícitas; a média dos valores da velocidade de oscila o e da área de elipse no grupo experimental foi significantemente maior (p < 0,05) do que a do grupo controle em todas as condi es avaliadas, com exce o dos valores da área de elipse em superfície firme e olhos abertos (p = 0,168). CONCLUS O: O equilíbrio corporal de dependentes de drogas ilícitas, com ou sem abuso de álcool, pode apresentar anormalidades do limite de estabilidade, da velocidade de oscila o e da área de elipse à posturografia estática. The use of illicit drugs and alcohol can affect body balance. AIM: To evaluate balance control with static posturography in individuals addicted to illicit drugs, with or without alcohol abuse. Study design: Case-control, prospective. METHODS: 47 users of illicit drugs, with or without alcohol abuse, and a homogeneous control group consisting of 47 healthy individuals were submitted to a neurotological evaluation including Balance Rehabilitation Unit posturography. RESULTS: The stability threshold mean values were significantly lower (p < 0.0001) in users of illicit drugs, with or without alcohol abuse when compared to the control group; the mean values for sway velocity and ellipse area in all evaluated conditions were significantly higher (p <0.05) in the experimental group when compared to the control group, except for the ellipse area in static force surface and opened eyes (p = 0.168). CONCLUSION: The balance control of individuals addicted to illicit drugs with or without alcohol abuse could present stability threshold, sway velocity and ellipse area abnormalities in static posturography.

Abstract: OBJETIVO: o objetivo desta investiga o foi avaliar a posturografia como método de acompanhamento de crian as com vestibulopatia periférica, tratadas com reabilita o vestibular, estabelecendo sua correla o com a evolu o clínica dos pacientes. MéTODOS: dez crian as (seis meninos e quatro meninas) portadoras de afec es vestibulares periféricas, submetidas à reabilita o vestibular como forma de tratamento, tiveram sua evolu o clínica avaliada através de uma anamnese detalhada de seus sintomas e da realiza o da posturografia dinamica computadorizada. Os dados posturográficos foram analisados e comparados à evolu o clínica dos pacientes estudados. RESULTADOS: observou-se, após o tratamento, melhora significativa das condi es 1 (paciente em posi o ortostática, plataforma fixa e olhos abertos) e 5 (paciente em posi o ortostática, plataforma em movimento e olhos fechados) da posturografia dinamica, da fun o vestibular e do índice do equilíbrio, que correlacionaram-se significativamente com a melhora clínica e diminui o dos sintomas dos pacientes. Observou-se, também, redu o significativa da influência da fun o somatosensorial sobre o equilíbrio final da crian a. CONCLUS O: os dados obtidos mostram que a posturografia n o substitui a avalia o clínica convencional, mas agrega dados quantitativos importantes para o acompanhamento da terapia destes pacientes.

Abstract: objective: this study aimed at evaluating dynamic posturography as an evaluation method in children with balance problems due to peripheral vestibulopathy, before and after treatment with vestibular rehabilitation, establishing its correlation with classical clinical evaluation. method: ten children (six boys and four girls) with vestibular symptoms of peripheral origin were evaluated through a complete clinical history and with dynamic computerized posturography after being treated by vestibular rehabilitation therapy. posturographic data were analyzed and compared to standard clinical evaluation parameters. results: dynamic posturography showed a significant improvement of condition 1 (orthostatic position, fixed support and open eyes) and 5 (orthostatic position, sway-referenced support and closed eyes) of the vestibular function and of the composite balance score. the data showed significant correlation with the clinical improvement observed. a significant reduction of proprioceptive influence was also observed. conclusion: data showed that the dynamic posturography adds important quantitative information to the conventional clinical evaluation of vestibular symptoms, especially in children.

Abstract: one of the most important tasks of the human postural control system is to keep the body balanced on the base of support provided by the feet. as a gravity sensor, the vestibular system is one of the most important tools of the nervous system in the control of the posture. when there is a malfunction in this system the individual starts to present a group of symptoms in which the vertigo generally is preponderant. the present study had as objective to correlate the results of the postural control evaluation in young peolple obtained through the dynamic posturography foam-laser (flp) and platform force. for the accomplishment of the study were invited 31 volunteers (19 men and 11 women) that were submitted to the evaluation of the postural control through the dynamic posturography foam-laser and power platform simultaneously. the results reveled that there was strong correlation among the values obteined in the tests of sensorial organization (tos) and area displacement pressure center (pc) at power platform in all tos. in tos iii, v e vi respectively, correlation was observed strong enters the results of the examinations in fpl and power platform, with r = - 0,79, r = 0,70 and r = - 0,80. this study concludes that the flp is a very useful method for evaluation of the balance, and this results show strong correlation with pressure center displacement area

Abstract: One of the most important tasks for the human postural control system is to maintain body balance on a small support base provided by the feet. As a gravity sensor, the vestibular system is one of the most important nervous system tools in posture control . The objective of this work was to study the influence of the vestibular system on the young adults’ balance control through Dynamic Posturografy Foam-laser (FLS). Participated in the study 30 young adults from the UFSM’s physical education undergraduate course, who volunteered to go under postural control evaluation through the FLP and platform of power, simultaneously, during the Sensorial Organization Test (TOS) I and V. Results showed that there was a moderate and strong rate of correlation between TOS I and V values and the area of displacement of the pressure center (CP) registered by the platform of power. They also showed that the FLP is a very useful method for balance evaluation, showing a good correlation with the CP displacement area . Uma das tarefas mais importantes do sistema do controle postural humano é o equilíbrio do corpo sobre a pequena base de apoio fornecida pelos pés. Como um sensor de gravidade, o sistema vestibular é uma das ferramentas mais importantes do sistema nervoso no controle da postura. O presente estudo teve como objetivo estudar a influencia do sistema vestibular no equilíbrio de adultos jovens, por meio da Posturografia Dinamica Foam-laser (FLP). Para a realiza o do estudo, foram convidados 30 voluntários adultos jovens, acadêmicos do curso de educa o física da UFSM, que foram submetidos à avalia o do controle postural através de FLP e plataforma de for a simultaneamente, durante o Teste de Organiza o Sensorial (TOS) I e V. Os resultados revelaram que houve moderado e forte índice de correla o entre os valores obtidos nos TOS I e V e a área de deslocamento do centro de press o (CP) registrada pela plataforma de for a. Conclui-se que a FLP é um método muito útil para avalia o do equilíbrio, e seus resultados demonstraram boa correla o com a área de deslocamento do CP.

Para melhor compreender essas duas esferas, será necessário, ao pesquisador, utilizar diferentes recursos metodológicos que viabilizem tal intera o. Assim, buscou-se investigar a dinamica entre família e empresa sob a perspectiva do método historiográfico e da técnica do genograma. Pelos resultados deste trabalho, considera-se que a aplica o conjugada desses recursos metodológicos amplia as possibilidades de compreens o da intera o família e empresa. Acredita-se que a principal contribui o deste trabalho seja de natureza metodológica, pois ele denota um desenvolvimento de pesquisa qualitativa que poderá ser trilhado por outros pesquisadores interessados em investigar organiza es dessa natureza. To comprehend these two dimensions, it is sometimes necessary to use different methodological approaches to make possible the comprehension of such interaction. Thus, this paper aimed to investigate the dynamics between family and business by applying the historiographic method and the genogram technique. The results indicates that the application of these two methods extend the possibilities of a better comprehension about the interaction between family and business. The main contribution of this paper is of a methodological nature, because it indicates a qualitative research route that can be followed by other researchers interested in studying the interaction family-organization. It also may contribute to the advance of the family business research, specially concerning the synergies and conflicts generated through the socially constructed relationships between family members and the family business.

Abstract: Introduction: In clinical practice, evaluation of postural control is based on the neurological examination, including Romberg's test, examination of gait and performance of pull test as part of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS). The goal of our study was to identify posturographic parameters since quantitative technical methods for the measurement of postural control are not established in clinical routine yet. Methods: In this cross-sectional study design we examined patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) (Hoehn and Yahr < 3; PD n = 12) on a static posturographic platform (eyes open and eyes closed), performing a standard Romberg's test during neurological examination and compared the results with an age-matched healthy adult control (HAC n = 10) and a healthy young control (HYC n = 21). Results: In the platform Romberg's test with open eyes, the patients with PD showed a significantly greater mean sway [PD: 14.98 vs. HAC: 8.77 (mm), p < 0.003 vs. HYC 7.80 (mm)], greater mean radius [PD: 28.31 vs. HAC: 16.36 (mm), p < 0.008 vs. HYC: 14.19 (mm)] and greater marked area [PD: 2.38 vs. HAC: 0.88 (cm2), p < 0.016 vs. HYC: 0.78 (cm2)] compared to the HAC. The Romberg's test with closed eyes revealed a significantly greater mean sway [PD: 13.83 vs. HAC: 10.12 (mm), p < 0.033 vs. HYC: 5.82 (mm)] and greater mean radius [PD: 25.03 vs. HAC: 18.15 (mm), p < 0.045 vs. HYC: 9.11 (mm)] compared to both groups. Conclusions: The platform Romberg-test with closed eyes detected significant differences in elderly people and patients with Parkinson's disease, which could be objectively quantified with static posturography testing. Age alone showed significant changes, only detectable with closed eyes. Therefore, balance testing with a new computerized approach could help to identify balance problems in a geriatric assessment in clinical routine, especially with the parameters marked area and mean sway.

Abstract: In an attempt to give a brief introduction to carbon nanotube inkjet printing, this review paper discusses the issues that come along with preparing and printing carbon nanotube ink. Carbon nanotube inkjet printing is relatively new, but it has great potential for broad applications in flexible and printable electronics, transparent electrodes, electronic sensors, and so on due to its low cost and the extraordinary properties of carbon nanotubes. In addition to the formulation of carbon nanotube ink and its printing technologies, recent progress and achievements of carbon nanotube inkjet printing are reviewed in detail with brief discussion on the future outlook of the technology.

Abstract: posturography has been used in the evaluation of patients with vestibular disorders. aim: to evaluate balance control with the balance rehabilitation unit (brutm) posturography in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. study design: prospective case-control. materials and methods: a cross-sectional controlled study was carried out in 45 patients with bppv, and a homogeneous control group consisting of 45 healthy individuals. patients were submitted to a balance function evaluation by means of the balance rehabilitation unit (brutm) posturography. results: the mean values of the ellipse area and the sway velocity in a firm surface and saccadic stimulation (p = 0.060). conclusion: the balance rehabilitation unit (brutm) posturography enables to identify postural control abnormalities in patients with bppv.
