iBusiness (IB) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ib.2010.23038
Abstract: Whether it is positive or negative effect for FDI to the host environment, the theoretic problem exists in argument. The paper analyzes influence factors, mechanism, environmental regulations and so on of FDI environmental effect, use Spearman rank correlation coefficients to calculate, and believes that in the reality, the host country is the main factor of the environmental effect, based on the stage of China’s economic development, environmental carrying capacity and the advanced technologies and management concepts of TNC, to promote logistics FDI to play an positive environmental effect.

- , 2016, DOI: 1672-3104(2016)04-0103-08
Abstract: Agglomeration of logistics industry makes great contributions to regional economic development, and the impact has been too big to be ignored. The present study employs the spatial econometric model to process the original data from 2004 to 2013 of 31 provinces to find out how agglomeration of logistics industry affects regional economic growth. From the overall level of regional economy, the agglomeration can effectively promote the regional economic growth and improve its efficiency. From the analysis of industry economy, the agglomeration of logistics industry makes the greatest contribution to the third industry but exerts no significant influence on the first industry. From the view of foreign trade, the logistics industry cluster only has a significant positive impact on regional import trade, but the spatial effect of logistics industry agglomeration could suppress import and export trade in the surrounding area
Logistics and Regional Economic Growth - Evidence from the Space Econometric Panel Data from China
Zhibing Cai,Jianchu Zhou
Economic Management Journal , 2012,
Abstract: Unlike the traditional economic growth model, spatial contact must be noted when we construct relative models in the study of the relationship between logistics industry development and regional economic. With the use of space panel econometric model and CD production function, by constructing a regional logistics industry development and regional economic growth economic model, the study about the economic growth of China's provinces and the logistics industry during 1988-2009 is carried out. The results show that there are significant spatial correlation between Chinese province's economic growth and development of the logistics industry. 1 percent increase in the neighboring provinces logistics industry will make the province's GDP increase about 0.15 percent. Finally, according to estimations, some relevant policy recommendations are given.

Technology and Investment (TI) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ti.2016.74015
The government attaches great importance to “The Silk Road Economic Belt”, especially the role of logistics that influences economic growth. This paper selects the data of transportation investment and economic growth in Xi’an from 1993 to 2013. And I use the Unit root test, the VAR model and the Granger causality test. The research results show that the economic growth has caused the development of the logistics industry.

iBusiness (IB) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ib.2010.21010
Abstract: Logistics Industry is regarded as the artery and basal industry of country economic development. Its degree of the development is one of the symbols of modernization and comprehensive national strength, and is described as the accelerator on promoting economic development. By using economic analytical method, the article takes the gross domestic product (GDP) as the explained variable and the value of cargo circular flow as the explaining variable, and sets up the economic model between gross domestic product and cargo circular flow; the interdependence between the logistics industry and the economic development can be revealed, and some corresponding suggestions about Dalian for the future development of logistics industry can be put forward.

iBusiness (IB) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ib.2010.24052
Abstract: This paper used Granger causality test method to analyze regional GDP growth in the domestic and regional freight turnover. And this paper used logistic model to analyze the reasons that regional logistics promote Anhui economic growth. Through the analysis that find Anhui economic growth on the leading role of regional logistics is not obvious. This showed that the role of regional logistics in promoting economic growth in Anhui Province has not been fully played out, which was not showing a good momentum of development co-ordination. So logistics will play an active role in the economy of Anhui province in the future.
Effect of Economic Growth on the Logistics Sector in India  [PDF]
Gunjan Malhotra, Sita Mishra
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2019.91016

Purpose: The aim is to attempt to explore the effect of selected economic growth indicators on the net profits in the logistics sector in India. Methodology: The research type used is causal research. The data are collected for the period of 1991-92 to 2016-17 from CMIE, RBI and government websites. The paper tries to establish the relationship among the independent variables such as the change in taxes, change in inflation rate and the change in GDP of Indian services sector on the dependent variable as profits of the Indian logistics industry. Findings: Results indicate that the tax expenses and inflation rate have a negative impact on the profit of logistics sector whereas the change in GDP service sector has a positive impact on the profit of the logistics sector. However, GDP service sector affects the profit of transportation industry less than the impact in comparison to the tax rate and inflation. Originality: This study provides the foundation for future research in the logistics sector. In today’s globalization and digitalization and with the advent of tax reforms like GST, this research is relevant with regard to determining the effect of taxation, inflation, and GDP on the logistics sector in India.

Har Wai Mun,Teo Kai Lin,Yee Kar Man
International Business Research , 2009, DOI: 10.5539/ibr.v1n2p11
Abstract: Foreign direct investment (FDI) has been an important source of economic growth for Malaysia, bringing in capital investment, technology and management knowledge needed for economic growth. Thus, this paper aims to study the relationship between FDI and economic growth in Malaysia for the period 1970-2005 using time series data. Ordinary least square (OLS) regressions and the empirical analysis are conducted by using annual data on FDI and economy growth in Malaysia over the 1970-2005 periods. The paper used annual data from IMF International Financial Statistics tables, published by International Monetary Fund to find out the relationship between FDI and economic growth in Malaysia case. Results show that LGDP, LGNI and the LFDI series in Malaysia are I(1) series. There is sufficient evidence to show that there are significant relationship between economic growth and foreign direct investment inflows (FDI) in Malaysia. FDI has direct positive impact on RGDP, which FDI rate increase by 1% will lead to the growth rate increase by 0.046072%. Furthermore, FDI also has direct positive impact on RGNI because when FDI rate increase by 1 %, this will lead the growth increase by 0.044877%.
