Abstract: The variation of corrosive wear of Fe-Ni-Cr(Mo,Cu)alloys with load in 20%H_2SO_4 solution at corrosion,cathodic,passivation and over-passivation potential regions wasdetermined by means of a pin-disc device,and the wear track was observed.The results showthat the removal of alloys is higher than that of 18-8 stainless steel in same corrrosive wear con-dition and attributes to the mechanical factor mainly.By comparing the specific energy con-sumption in grooving and the variation of hardness of alloys before and after wear testing withthose of 18-8 stainless steel,it is deduced that the wear resistance related to the strain hardeningis decreased due to the high content of Ni in Fe-Ni-Cr(Mo,Cu)alloys.
Tribological Properties of Mo-N Hard Coatings on Ti6Al4V by Double Glow Discharge Technique

Abstract: Mo-N hard coatings on Ti6Al4V were formed using double glow discharge technique. The fundamental coating properties,such as the phase, hardness and elastic modulus were investigated. The tribological performances of the coatings in dry wear condition were studied by means of ball-on-disc wear machine. The experimental results showed that the thickness of the Mo-N hard coating was about 10 μm. The coating was single fcc γ-Mo2N phase with (200) preferred orientation. The hardness and the elastic modulus of the coating was 13.80 GPa and 261.65 GPa respectively. The surface treatment enhanced the hardness and elastic modulus of the surface of Ti6Al4V base greatly. With GCr15 slider ball, the friction coefficient of the Mo-N hard coatingwas in the range of 0.56~0.65 at the steady state. Though the coating did not show friction reducing effect, it improved the wear resistance of Ti6Al4V greatly.

Abstract: On the basis of dual phase stainless steel, the effect of composition and microstucture on corrosive wear of alloys was investigated. The wear and erosion tests by pin-on-disc and in slurry pot in aggressive medium were carried out for exploring the approach to develop the corrosive wear resistant alloys. The results show that the improvement of synthetic mechanical properties by controlling composition and microstructure of alloys without sacrificing their corrosion resistance and the full utilization of deformation strengthening of alloys are the correct way for developing the corrosive wear resistant alloys,a certain strengthening effect of harder secondary phase in matrix may be applied in appropriate service conditions.

Abstract: The corrosion rate,together with corrosive wear and corrosion coefficient under load,of alloy CD-4MCu in 69% H_3PO_4 or 69% H_3PO_4+500 ppm NaCl solution measured,and the morphology of their wear tracks was then observed by SEM.The alloy CD-4MCu is revealed to be superior in corrosive wear resistance to stainless steel 304 and even to Carpenter 20Cb3,a high corrosion resisting alloy.From its features of duplex phase structure,it could be suggested that the weight loss related to mechanical factor was improved by existence of austenitic phase due to its deformation strengthening.

Abstract: The corrosive wear behavior of Cr-Mn-N casting stainless steel with addition of Cu and Mo in media of H2SO4, HNO3, HaC acid is investigated. Its corrosive wear resistance is much better than that of 304 stainless steel. and the reason is that, besides the similar corrosive resistance between Cr-Mn-N casting stainless steel and 304 stainless steel, the former has a better work-hardening ability than that of Ni series stainless steel in wear experiment. So it is fit for dominative wear condition.

Abstract: The corrosive wear rate of matallic materials is not equal to the addition of corrosive and wear rates.This phenomenon is due to the interaction between the corrosion and wear.But only a few of research reports described the interaction quantitatively and dealt with its essence.If some environmental parameters,such as temperature,pressure,are ignored in the system of corrosive wear,it can be considered that corrosive wear of metallic materials is caused by electrochemical and mechanical factors simultaneously.Under the given conditions,experiments of corrosive wear on 45 # carbon steel and 2 Cr13 stainless steel were carried out with a series of 20% (volume fraction) silica sand -slurries containing variant concentraction of sulphuric acid,hydrochloric acid and nitric acid in an erosion tester.The resuults showed that the corrosive wear rate is greater than the sum of the corrosion and the wear rates on the tested materials,it proved that the existence of the interaction between corrosion and wear during corrosive wear process.It was observed that the value of inteaction of corrosive wear increased with increasement of corrosion rate or wear rate.Based on the analysis of main factors effecting the interaction of corrosive wear,an interaction diagram which indicates the relation between the interaction of corrosive wear and corrosive rate or wear rate was created.It can be used to analyze the influences of electrochemical and mechanical factors on the interaction of corrosive wear,to compare the sensitivity of interaction of corrosive wear to electrochemical and mechanical factors among variant materials,and to guide the evaluation of thee corrosive wear behaviour of materials.

Abstract: Corrosive wear,which is widely found in mechanical equipment of oil,chemical,mining and electrical industries,is one of the main reasons which induce material loss andequipment failure,Studies on corrosive wear have been earried out recent years,but there are manyproblems in corrosive wear testers and no special testers for experiments of corrosive wear.So threetypes of corrosive wear testers,which had good operating performance and could be used fordifferent purpose study,have been designed and man ufactured in our laboratory.The steady testercan be used not only for evaluating corrosive wear properties of metals in different corrosivemediums but also for studying mechanism of corrosive wear.Transient information of metal surfacebeing scratched in different corrosive mediums can be obtained from the transient tester.The slurryerosion tester can be used for evaluating corrosive wear property of metals in simulative conditions,this is important to mechanism study and material selection. Corrosive wear behavior of AISI 316Land dupiex stainless steel was studied by using these testers.The results indicate that these testerspossess good operating performances and can be used for studying corrosive wear systematically.

Abstract: The corrosive wear rates, friction coefficient and reformation period of passive film of stainless steel specimens were determined in dilute H_2SO_4 solu- tion and then the morphology of the wear tracks was observed. The experiment shows that the corrosive wear rate of high alloy stainless steel is higher than that of 304 stainless steel. It is suggested that the way to develop an alloy to be appli- ed to corrosive wear is not the same as those used in corrosion environment.

Abstract: The methods for measuring the component induced only by mechemical action amoung the while weight loss in a corrosive wear process.The methods used include three measurements in disstilled water without and with cathodic protection or adding inhibitor. The weight loss obtamed by the above methods were carefully compared with that in air. The results show that the mechanical wear loss components and friction coefficients obtained by the three methods are close to each other and can be used to calculate the various wear conponents in the study of the mutual effects of corrosion and wear, but the measurements in distilled water for pure iorn and 1045 steel are not recommanded due to their corrosion.
