Abstract: Web intelligence is a fascinating area in the very early stages of research and development. It combines the interaction of the human mind and artificial intelligence with networks and technology. How will the next generation Web mature? With the imminent growth of web intelligence what expectations do users have? Clearly the user will expect more from the Web than for it to merely pass raw data between people via search engines. This study attempts to define and summarise the concept of web intelligence, highlight the key elements of web intelligence and explore the topic of web information retrieval with particular focus on multimedia/information retrieval and intelligent agents.

Abstract: 本研究比較網路化檔案評量環境下教學者評、學生自評與同儕互評的信效度。研究樣本為某高職二年級修習「計算機應用」課程的七十二位學生。學生使用網路化檔案評量系統進行檔案的製作、觀摩、自評與同儕互評,教師透過系統檢視學生的檔案並評量其學習表現。在三種評量結果之間差異上,教學者評、學生自評、同儕互評三種評量結果有顯著差異,其中教學者評量最為嚴格、其次為學生自評,同儕互評最為寬鬆。在三種評量結果之間一致性上,僅自評與教師評之間具一致性。自評與同儕互評之間、同儕互評與教學者評之間,都不具一致性。在三種評量結果與測驗成績一致性上,教學者評分結果與測驗成績具高度一致性,學生自評與測驗成績亦具高度一致性;而同儕互評結果與測驗成績一致性低。 This study compares the reliable and validity among instructor assessment, student self-assessment and peer-assessment under the Web-based portfolio assessment environment. The research samples consist of 72 students who take “Computer Application” course of the second grade in some vocational high school. The students use the Web-based portfolio assessment system for creating their portfolio, emulating peers’ portfolio, and performing self-assessment and peer-assessment. The teacher uses the system for reviewing and assessing students’ learning performances. In regard to the difference among the three assessment approaches, there exists a significant difference among the three approaches. Instructor assessment is most rigorous, while peer-assessment is most slack. In regard to the correlation among the three assessment approaches, there exists a significant consistency between self-assessment and instructor assessment. There exist inconsistencies between self-assessment and peer-assessment as well as peer-assessment and instructor assessment. In regard to the correlation among the three assessment results and test score, there exist a high consistency between instructor assessment and test score. As well, there exist a high consistency between self-assessment and test score. However, the consistency between peer-assessment and test score is inadequate.

Abstract: The field of information extraction from the Web emerged with the growth of the Web and the multiplication of online data sources. This paper is an analysis of information extraction methods. It presents a service oriented approach for web information extraction considering both web data management and extraction services. Then we propose an SOA based architecture to enhance flexibility and on-the-fly modification of web extraction services. An implementation of the proposed architecture is proposed on the middleware level of Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) servers.

Abstract: 本研究以訊息「來源可信度」、「情感認同」,與「涉入程度」作為變項,探討大學生在採信消費性網路謠言的影響程度。研究群希望藉此喚醒大學生對網路訊息的自覺,並將研究成果提供企業產品行銷及個人防堵謠言之參考。本研究結果發現:一、發訊者及訊息內容是否具專家權威性,將影響收訊者對消費性網路謠言的判斷;二、不同情感認同的收訊者在採信網路謠言的程度上,並沒太大差異;但在消費行為上卻稍有差異;三、涉入程度在來源可信度與情感認同兩方面,對於大學生採信消費性網路謠言均有正向影響。 The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlative causality of college students’ belief to consuming network rumors. “Source credibility,” “affection” and “involvement” are operated as the main variable effects on college students’ belief to these rumors. By using “involvement” as a moderator, this study analyzes its correlation with the other factors. This study is designed to awake college students’ attention to network messages, and to provide suggestions for the enterprises. The findings of this study include: 1. both source credibility and involvement have positive effects on the college students’ belief to consuming network rumors; 2. affection has part of effect on the college students’ belief to consuming network rumors, but with no causal relation; and 3. both source credibility and involvement have positive effects on the college students’ belief to consuming network rumors under different involvements.

Abstract: The World Wide Web is an information resource with virtually unlimited potential. However, this potential is relatively untapped because it is difficult for machines to process and integrate thisinformation meaningfully and today the WWW links more than 15 billion pages. The retrieval of relevant information on web is an issue that is of main concern. Abstract: In this paper we propose research on how semantic web technologies can be used to mine theweb, for information extraction. We also examine how new unsupervised processes can aid in extractingprecise and useful information from semantic data, thus reducing the problem of information overload .TheSemantic Web adds structure to the meaningful content of Web pages; hence information is given a welldefinedmeaning; which is both human readable as well as machine-processable. This enables thedevelopment of automated intelligent systems, allowing machines to comprehend the semantics of documentsand data. Here we propose techniques for automating the process of search, analysis and categorization ofsemantic data, further we examine how these techniques can aid in improving the efficiency of alreadyexisting information retrieval technologies by implementing reporting functionalities, which is highlighted inthe future work and challenges.
