Abstract: taurocerus amyot & serville, 1843 is revised based on morphology of male and female genitalia. four species are recognized: t. edessoides (spinola, 1837), t. achiles st?l, 1862, t. abruptus (walker, 1867), and t. amazonensis sp. nov. illustrations of male and female genitalia and a key for the species are provided.

Abstract: revision of the genus mecocephala dallas, 1851 (heteroptera, pentatomidae). the genus mecocephala dallas, 1851 is revised, and some taxonomic and geographical distribution data are evaluated. the following species are considered to belong to this genus: m. acuminata dallas, 1851 = m. holmbergi pirán, 1969 syn. nov., m. curculionoides pirán, 1959, m. bonariensis sp. nov., m. magna sp. nov., m. maldonadensis sp. nov., and m. zikani sp. nov.; their distribution is restricted to southern neotropical region. other species, formerly placed in mecocephala, are considered, respectively: m. rubripes berg, 1894 incertae sedis, m. darwini kirkaldy, 1909 incertae sedis, m. atra bergroth, 1914 incertae sedis, paramecocephala uruguayensis (pirán, 1970) comb. nov., paramecocephala fusca (haglund, 1868) comb. nov. a key to the species is presented.

Abstract: runibia st?l, 1861 is redescribed, as well as the species r. dallasi rider, 1998, r. decorata (dallas, 1851), r. discoidea (fabricius, 1787), r. euopta (walker, 1867) and r. perspicua (fabricius, 1798). a new species, r. caribeana, is described from virgin islands. strachia alligata walker, 1867, r. decorata var. alligata, and r. picturata breddin, 1904 were considered junior synonyms of r. decorata. lectotypes of r. dallasi, r. euopta and r. alligata were designated. male and female genitalia for all species are described, except the phallus and ectodermal genital duct for r. dallasi. a key and a geographical distribution map are also provided.

Abstract: review of thoreyella spinola with the description of two new species from brazil (heteroptera, pentatomidae). thoreyella spinola is revised, with detailed descriptions of the four known species (t. brasiliensis spinola, 1850, t. trinotata berg, 1878, t. cornuta berg, 1883 and, t. taurus jensen-haarup, 1931), and two new species from brazil: t. maracaja sp. nov. (minas gerais, santa catarina, and rio grande do sul states) and t. paraiba sp. nov. (paraíba state). new geographical country and state/ province records are as follows: t. cornuta from rio grande do sul; t. brasiliensis from mato grosso, espírito santo, catamarca, and córdoba; and t. trinotata from brazil (rio grande do sul). a key to all species is given.

Abstract: four new species of acrosternum from brazil are described: acrosternum (chinavia)immaculatum(pará, mato grosso, minas gerais), a.(c.) panizzii (paraná), a. (c.) pontagrossensis(paraná)and a. (c.) rideri (amazonas, mato grosso, goiás, distrito federal, minas gerais). the external and internal genitalia of both sexes, except of a. (c.) pontagrossensis are studied. a key for the identification of all known species of the genus is included.

Abstract: thirteen species are presently included in the genus: s. apicicornis st?l, 1860; s. beckerae thomas & rolston, 1985; s. bihamulata, thomas & rolston, 1985; s. calligera st?l, 1860; s. concolor ruckes, 1958; s. costalis ruckes, 1958; s. delphis thomas & rolston, 1985; s. inspersipes st?l, 1860; s. limbatipennis st?l, 1860; s. lobata thomas & rolston, 1985; s. quadridens thomas & rolston, 1985; s. rotundicornis becker, 1967, and s. ruckesi thomas & rolston, 1985. five new species are described: s.indistincta sp. nov. (iraí; rio grande do sul), s. bicolor sp. nov. (ponta grossa; paraná) s. maculata sp. nov. (itatiaia; rio de janeiro) s. maxima sp. nov. (imbituba; santa catarina) and s. robusta sp. nov. (itatiaia; rio de janeiro) from brazil. a cladistic analysis was performed using 40 characters and 21 taxa. the genera tibilis st?l, 1860; neotibilis grazia & barcellos, 1994 and similliserdia fortes & grazia, 1998 were used as outgroups. the monophyly of serdia is supported by three synapomorphies: scutellum apex with darkned margins; males with the inner wall of genital cup thicker and with brim-shaped processes; females with the thickennings of the vaginal intima arising at posterior half of gonapophyses 9, and projected ventrad. the subgenus brasiliicola kirkaldy, 1909 is considered junior synonym of serdia. illustrations, a map of geographical distribution and a key for the species are also provided.
