Laticíferos articulados anastomosados em espécies de Asclepiadeae (Asclepiadoideae, Apocynaceae) e suas implica??es ecológicas

Brazilian Journal of Botany , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-84042008000400015
Abstract: laticifers occur in all members of apocynaceae. they are described as nonarticulated branched by most authors, but articulated laticifers have been reported to some species of this family. the present study aims to describe the laticifer ontogeny, structure, distribution, and type in vegetative organs of fischeria stellata (vell.) e.fourn., gonioanthela axillaris (vell.) fontella & e.a. schwarz, matelea denticulata (vahl) fontella & e.a. schwarz, and oxypetalum banksii schult. and re-evaluate the laticifers of asclepias curassavica l. from atlantic rainforest, comparing the results with those of species from "cerrado" vegetation. the laticifers of these five species are articulated anastomosing, whose transverse or oblique walls dissolve rapidly and entirely. the laticifers branch through lateral anastomoses and form a continuous system throughout the adult plant. they are observed in primary tissues of stem and leaf, except in epidermis; they are also present in the secondary vascular tissue, except in the secondary xylem of a. curassavica. the ontogeny of these laticifers may explain the divergence between our data and those recorded for most species of the family. the results obtained revealed that the ontogeny, type, structure, and distribution of laticifers of the species of asclepiadeae from "restinga", lowland humid forests, and "cerrado" vegetation are similar. the continuity of the articulated anastomosing laticifer system ensures a greater latex flow into the injured organ, releasing the laticifer exsudate simultaneously, coagulating and sealing the wounds rapidly, besides hindering the entrance of microorganisms.

This article presents the results of a thesis on pathology of interlocking pavements, which objective was to make a compilation of typical damages of interlocking pavements constructed with concrete or brick pavers and, in this way, to elaborate a catalogue of damages for this kind of structures which will make the identification and quantification of deteriorations possible in a visual inspection. The second purpose of this project is the formulation of a methodology which allows determining the Index of pavement conditions for Colombia.

Revista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária , 2013,
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to record new hosts for Ixodes luciae Sénevet in the State of Para, Brazil, and present a case of malformation (teratogeny) in a nymph of this species. The new host records are Marmosa murina (parasitized by females) and Philander opossum (parasitized by nymphs). One of these nymphs showed malformation in the posterior margin of the opisthosoma resulting in a heart shaped posterior end.
Significance of follicle anatomy of Apocynaceae
Vinoth Thomas,Yash Dave
Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae , 1994, DOI: 10.5586/asbp.1994.002
Abstract: The pericarp structure of Aganosma, Alstonia, Catharanthus sp., Holarrhena, Ichnocarpus, Parsonsia, Strophanthus, Vallaris and Wrightia sp. distinguished into epicarp, mesocarp and endocarp has been used to put forward their taxonomic and phylogenetic importance. Epicarp is single layered in Catharanthus sp., Ichnocarpus, Parsonsia and Vinca, while in the rest of the genera it is multilayered. Mesocarp is parenchymatous which embeds vasculature and non-articulated laticifers. Endocarp is multilayered and thick walled. Dehiscence of the follicle is marginicidal. A comparison table of follicular features of Apocynaceae, Asclepiadaceae and Periplocaceae is furnished and their features are discussed. A taxonomic key based on follicular fruit characteristic to indentify the genera and species is appended.

Laticifer systems in Mandevilla illustris and M. velutina apocynaceae
Beatriz Appezzato-Da-Gloria,Maria E. Maranh?o Estelita
Acta Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae , 1997, DOI: 10.5586/asbp.1997.035
Abstract: Two Apocynaceae species from savanna (Cerrado) area of Sao Paulo State, Brazil were studied. In both Mandevilla species examined, the laticifer systems are of non-articulated branched type, characteristic of the family. In vegetative organs reported was the occurrence of a primary laticifer system of which the cells were differentiated in the embryo. However, additional laticifer cells were always produced during the growth of the shoot apex. A secondary laticiferous system produced by the cells of vascular cambium was identified in the tuberous root and in the stem. A proposed discussion on this apparently unique record in Apocynaceae was arisen to evaluate the main distinction between articulated and non-articulated laticifers.
