Abstract:

Proposes a reflection of the representations that the teacher has the writing and its teaching, noting the extent to which these representations influence teachers' instructional guidelines for teaching writing in the classroom. Methodology uses as the life stories of nine professors of Portuguese in the 7th year in public schools, the city of Teresina, Piauí. Considers theoretical support the concept of social representation of researcher Moscovici and his collaborators, as well as theories of language and different concepts of language and text produced within the Linguistics. Displays the data analysis that while the reports of the teachers surveyed have revealed the reproduction of old practices of teaching, they also show acts of those teachers who demonstrate the concern and attempt to introduce themselves to other practices which indicate the direction of another representation of the act of writing and teaching writing.
