But the following problems also exist: the class is mainly teacher-centered, and focuses on vocabulary and grammar. Influenced by traditional beliefs, teachers aim to impart language knowledge through a single teaching method. It severely restricts the all-around development of students. Thus, it is proper to integrate the cognitive characteristics and learning motivation of students and the advantages of various teaching methods to design a more efficient English course. Therefore, this paper, which takes the English teaching of the sixth grade in a public middle school in Shanghai as a case, designs the English teaching course ¡°Great Cities in Asia¡±, combining the theories of constructivism and behaviorism and the situational teaching method. %K English Teaching %K Course Design %K Situational Teaching Method %U http://www.oalib.com/paper/6770941
