The sample was calcined at 400oC. The prepared samples were characterized by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. According to X-ray diffraction results monoclinic copper hydroxynitrate (Cu2(OH)3.NO3) and CuO were obtained at 180oC, calcined at 400oC, respectively. TG-DTA analysis showed single stage weight loss. The weight loss of 33.27% at 350¡ãC represents a contemporaneous dissociation of HNO3 and H2O. The FTIR analysis indicates the samples have O-H, O-NO2, N-O and Cu-OH group bands. The SEM results reveal that the copper hydroxynitrate have micrometer-size hexagonal plates. %K copper hydroxynitrate %K hydrothermal synthesis %U http://dergipark.gov.tr/jotcsb/issue/28298/300653
